FORMER Singapore forward Hafiz Rahim has died, aged 36.
Tributes have poured in after the forward was killed in a horror motorbike accident.
The Football Association of Singapore shared this picture to their Facebook page
According to The Straits Times, the incident happened in Tampines in Singapore.
The 36-year-old sadly leaves behind his wife and three children.
Rahim started his career with Geylang United before moving on to play for Singapore Armed Forces in 2004.
After returning to Geyland United he enjoyed stints with Gombak United, Home United and Warriors.
He made nine appearances for the Singapore national team from 2011 until 2020.
Rahim scored the winning goal in the 2009 Singapore Club finals for Geyland United.
And his goal secured the S-League title for Warriors in 2014.
National goalkeeper Hassan Sunny has paid tribute to the 36-year-old.
He said: “He was like a brother to me.
“When we were young, we used to have sleepovers at my place and my mum would cook up a feast.
“So when I received the news, I broke down immediately.
“I saw him last week at [futsal facility] Rainforest when I trained but because of the safety protocols, we did not get to talk to each other, but we managed to wave at one another.”
Ex-national striker Aleksandar Duric said: “He was a young boy when he came into [the first team] together with Hassan and Baihakki [Khaizan].
“They were all shy at first, but they were all always enthusiastic and wanted to learn.
“I used to call him ‘babyface’ because he looked so much younger than he was.
“I called him by that nickname even when he was in his 30s.
“He really was one f the nicest guys you could want to be around.
“It’s sad we are losing so many good people at young ages.”
