But the former Manchester United defender has urged the English top-flight to consider pushing back the restart date.

Speaking on Sky Sports’ The Football Show, he said: “I don’t think anybody is clear, in football or in the country.

“You’ve all seen the fallout of the rambling mess we had to witness on Sunday night.

“It became a little bit clearer yesterday with the further info that was released, but I think the Premier League were hanging their hat on further guidance that they didn’t get.

“Maybe at this moment in time they need to be thinking on a July start rather than a June start.

“We’re getting closer and closer to a deadline.”

Premier League games will take place without fans – but several players have expressed their concerns about playing during a pandemic.

Danny Rose slated the decision to bring back football as he said: “It’s a f****** joke, I’m not even going to lie.

“The Government is saying bring football back because it’s going to boost the nation’s morale, I don’t give a f*** about the nation’s morale.

“People’s lives are at risk, you know what I mean?”

And Aston Villa ace Tyrone Mings admitted players have been kept in the dark about plans to restart the league.

Manchester City star Sergio Aguero has also admitted the stars are “scared” about being forced back into action.

Fellow pundit Jamie Carragher claimed three to four players in each squad would be against the restart proposal.

Neville, 45, added: “I think if Jamie’s [Carragher] number is correct, three or four in a squad [not wanting to play] that’s quite a large percentage, 25 per cent of a squad.

“There is economic pressure building, there’s a health problem pending, but there’s a set of communications that need to take place with players.

“But if they can get some sort of liability from the Government, I think the Premier League will try and restart.”
