Khedira is currently plying his trade in Italy with Serie A champions Juventus but has fallen down the pecking order at the Allianz Stadium.

The 33-year-old has found himself playing second fiddle to Rodrigo Bentancur and Artur Melo and has yet to play a single minute of first-team football this season.

And Ancelotti is seemingly willing to offer the midfielder an exit from his current nightmare in Turin.

Speaking ahead of Everton’s Premier League clash with Arsenal, the Italian said: “Sami Khedira was my player at Real Madrid, an important player for us.

“I’ve a good memory of him but I don’t think we are looking for him at this moment.”

Despite stating the Toffees aren’t currently looking at the German, Ancelotti has hinted that could change when the transfer window re-opens.

The veteran manager, 61, added: “Maybe in January.”

Khedira recently revealed he’s been in contact with his old boss, telling Bild: “We spoke on the phone and wrote. You know my situation.”

The former Stuttgart man has grown frustrated by his current predicament and is eager to leave the Old Lady as soon as possible.

He said: “I’m open to a new sporting challenge.

“I have had a difficult time and want to play football again, fighting for three points week after week. That’s what I long for.

“At the moment I still have so much strength and energy, so I am not dealing with summer 2021, but with December and January. A change is realistic, my full focus is on that.”

Juventus will be back in action this evening, travelling to the Ennio Tardini Stadium to take on Parma.

Everton, meanwhile, will welcome Manchester United to Goodison Park on Wednesday night.
