FOOTBALL fans are Marvelling at Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds bidding to buy fifth-tier Wrexham.
The Red Dragons hope the Detective Pikachu actor and fellow movie celebrity Rob McElhenney will not be handing them a Hollywood pass with the silver screen duo’s vision for the club’s future.

Green Lantern hero Reynolds and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia director McElhenney are to present their ideas to the fan-owned National Leaguers, who voted overwhelmingly to continue talks.
A potential takeover could be worth £2million to Wales’ ex-EFL club Wrexham.
And Reynolds, who is also a business entrepreneur, breathed new fire on the hot speculation by confirming his interest with an enigmatic reply to a fan on social media.
The Canadian responded to “you never know when Ryan Reynolds is going to turn up in Wrexham ;)” with: “Yep, you never know.”
Having been a vampire hunter in Blade: Trinity he is now clearly more interested in the Red Dragons – the world’s third oldest football club.
But the response from many armchair observers on Twitter was amazement, including posts like: “Incredible, isn’t it!” and “This can only happen in football”.
The club itself issued a statement saying: “The Wrexham Supporters Trust Board would like to thank all members who took part in the Special General Meeting… 97.5% of voters (1,223 members) voted in favour of the Resolution.
“As a result, talks with the proposed bidders will now continue and we are in a position to confirm the two people interested in investing in Wrexham AFC…
“In due course, Mr. McElhenney and Mr. Reynolds will put forward their vision for Wrexham AFC and proposal for members to vote on at a second Special General Meeting.”
The BBC quoted Trust director Spencer Harris as expecting a deal “in weeks rather than months”.
And it could mean the fans’ nine-year reign ending.
Harris said: “Whoever runs Wrexham football club – or indeed any football club – where it really belongs is in the hearts and minds of its supporters and I would expect whoever is running the club going forward would take that into consideration.”
And perhaps a takeover involving Reynolds would be Dead Cool.
