A number of aggressive measures were put in place to try and halt the spread of the virus as the country was put into lockdown.
Several Chinese Super League teams fled the nation to avoid catching coronavirus, including reigning champions Guangzhou Evergrande, who relocated to Dubai for a training camp.
Wuhan Zall, whose city has been at the centre of the epidemic, departed for Spain and have been forced to remain there for weeks due to China’s lockdown.
Now with things improving in recent weeks, Wild East News claims the football season will soon be resumed.
With the bug spreading across Europe and other nations, teams have been making plans to finally fly home to avoid the virus.
But despite the eagerness to get back to China, there could be further complications facing staff and players at each club.
Beijing authorities demand that any person returning from international countries that have been infected by the virus must instantly go into quarantine for a period of 14 days.
Therefore players could be facing a furth spell of self-isolation as China looks to stop an influx of cases from abroad.
