They did secure a crucial 2-1 win at Burnley yesterday thanks to goals from Wesley and Jack Grealish.
But now they look to be in the market for a proven scorer and have turned to Batshuayi, say Foot Mercato.
The Villans are reportedly interested in signing the 26-year-old Belgian on loan with an option to buy.
Wesley has been ruled out for up to nine months with a damaged cruciate ligament.
He is to undergo surgery this weekend before returning to his native Brazil for rehab.
Batshuayi, who has been on loan at Borussia Dortmund, Valencia and Crystal Palace since joining Chelsea in 2016, has made 12 Premier League appearances this season but is yet to start a match.
It is claimed that the Premier League winner’s camp feel this is not enough game time.
And the man known as Batman has the sort of character that could spark Villa’s season into life.

Batshuayi is said to be in a “period of reflection about his future” with Euro 2020 on the horizon.
And he knows playing time and the confidence that comes from scoring will be crucial to helping his country.
Villa are also looking at former Liverpool forward Daniel Sturridge.
Sturridge’s career in the English top flight looked over when he left the Reds last summer and opted to move to Turkish side Trabzonspor.
Two years blighted by injuries had put a string of Premier League clubs off offering the England striker a deal because he could not be trusted to stay fit.
But Villa boss Smith is desperate to add some firepower to his squad as they look to climb away from trouble in the table.
And his need for new attacking options has been increased by the knee injury suffered by Wesley which threatens to rule him out for a long time.
The Brazilian is feared to have damaged his anterior cruciate ligament during the Turf Moor win.
