The 27-year-old, who can play left-back, centre-half or in midfield, has just over a year remaining on his contract at the Allianz Arena.
That means Bayern could be set to cash in at the end of the campaign rather than risk losing him for free.
And it is believed the player himself is open to seeking pastures new.
However, Bild claims Alaba has his heart set on a move to either Barcelona or Real Madrid rather than the Cityzens.
Both of the La Liga giants hold an interest in the experienced star.
And today’s report claims the ace is determined to secure a switch to the Nou Camp or Bernabeu.
Alaba has made over 350 appearances for Bayern since his arrival in 2010.
And 28 of those appearances have come this season as he remains a key part of the first-team squad.
