EYE ON THE SKY
n
Tomorrow’s weather is set to play a huge part in the race outcome with rain predicted to hit the qualifying session.
n
So what is the current forecast?
n
Accuweather rate the chances of precipitation in Spielberg tomorrow as 76 per cent, with 45 per cent chance of thunderstorms.
n
Any thunder and lightning would likely stop the running in its tracks.
n
The morning/afternoon splits place slightly more emphasis on the chance of rain after lunch, making for a worrisome wait to see how the weather holds up.
n
And, of course, with the Red Bull Ring in the mountains there is always that extra level of unpredictability to consider…
n”,”raw”:”

BREATHLESS
n
Lando Norris has complained of a severe back pain that forced him to limit his time on track during practice for the Styrian GP.
n
The Brit, who took his maiden podium here at the Red Bull Ring last Sunday, has been left baffled by the agony.
n
He said: “I don’t know where the pain is in my chest, and yeah I hit the brakes and the compression spikes up massively. So I’m just afraid to brake massively, which is not ideal around here.
n
“I feel fine now, and walking around, but it’s something that when I’m driving just causes me a lot of pain, particularly in the high-speed corners and when I’m braking.
n
“I’ve spoken to my specialist and he tried to figure it out but it’s not as obvious as just pointing it out and so on.
n
“I’ve been on painkillers and whatever but it’s been setting me back a lot. It’s been pretty frustrating.”
n”,”raw”:”

LEW’D HOPE NOT
n
Lewis Hamilton hopes tomorrow’s qualifying does not get wiped out by adverse weather conditions.
n
The FP2 result will be instated as the race grid if qualifying is a wash-out and an alternative time on Sunday cannot be found – leaving the Mercedes man in sixth.
n
He said: “If we have to start in sixth, that would suck. I would be starting further back than I did last week, so it would make it challenging.
n
“We have a lot of work to do in the background to figure out why the car felt good in first practice and then dropped off.
n
“The others were quick and Valtteri had good pace, so hopefully we will be in a better position tomorrow.”
n”,”raw”:”
