Tyson Fury is best heavyweight in the world claims ring legend Roberto Duran in Anthony Joshua snub

TYSON FURY is the best heavyweight in the world, according to boxing legend Roberto Duran.

The British star, 31, is the WBC and Ring Magazine world champion after beating Deontay Wilder in February.

And Fury already has his sights on a trilogy fight with the Bronze Bomber – AND a unification clash with fellow Brit Anthony Joshua in 2021.

But Duran – dubbed “Hands of Stone” during his career – reckons Fury has the edge over any other heavyweight on the planet.

He told iFL TV: “Fury got under Wilder’s skin, because he was moving the head and feinting.

“[Wilder] couldn’t hit him, [Fury] was really smart… for that reason Tyson Fury is the best heavyweight now.

“He’s crazy and sometimes he plays [the] fool.

“But he’s really, really smart and that’s why he’s one of the best in boxing now.”

‘CRAZY FURY’

Duran elaborated on Fury’s “crazy” character – pointing to something that happened in the build-up to his February clash with Wilder.

Duran joked: “Tyson Fury is crazy…

“Before his fight, Wilder was with his wife, on a couch – Fury started laughing and joking with some other guy and kissing his hand.”

Meanwhile, Fury shared a video of himself and his dad after “12 rounds of brutal sparring” earlier on Thursday.

John – who has been linked with a fight with Mike Tyson for the 53-year-old’s comeback – was full of praise for his son, who will be heavyweight champion for “ten years or more”.

Tyson said: “I’ve just finished 12 rounds with my dad on the pads… he’s absolutely busted me.”

John repaid the compliment, replying: “You’re strong… I’m worn out myself.

“The man’s an animal, a tank and as strong as three men.

“There’s nobody who can beat this man… nobody. He’s king of the world.

“He’s the man for the next ten years, or more.”
