FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR made £382,000 for every punch he landed in the last decade as the boxing legend pocketed £700million.

Mayweather’s biggest fight of the decade came in May 2015 when he battled past Manny Pacquiao in their money-spinning showdown in Las Vegas.

Now Forbes have reported Mayweather was easily the top-earning sportsperson of the 2010s – beating the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Tiger Woods.

Incredibly, the boxing superstar landed 1,833 punches in his ten fights, connecting with 43 per cent of his 4,270 attempts.

When compared to his overall earnings, that means he averaged nearly £400,000 per successful hit.

As well as beating Pacquiao in 2015, Mayweather beat big names such as Conor McGregor, Canelo Alvarez and Miguel Cotto in the decade just gone.

Shane Mosley, Victor Ortiz, Robert Guerrero, Marcos Maidana (twice) and Andre Berto were Money’s other victims in the 2010s.

Mayweather famously boasts an unbeaten 50-0 record – with 27 of those victories coming by way of knockout.

Two of his ten wins in the last decade also came via KO.

Mayweather retired following his mega-money bout with UFC star McGregor in 2017 – but he is being tipped to return to the ring in 2020.

Money has been linked with an unlikely rematch against Pacquiao, but has also been tipped to move into MMA after talks with UFC chief Dana White.
