Beach Volleyball Awards: Evandro voted Best Male Server of 2018/2019

His serving is something that needs to be seen to be believed. While Evandro Goncalves has regularly changed partners over recent seasons, the one thing that is constant is the Brazilian’s serve acting as the basis for the success he has enjoyed.

The 29-year-old uses his 210cm tall and 103kg frame to its maximum to fire services across the net. It means if he gets above the ball and puts his full weight through the ball there is usually little defences can do.

He began the season with a new partner in Bruno Schmidt, and they won gold at the Warsaw 4-Star, silver at the Jinjiang 4-Star and bronze at the Gstaad 3-Star.

With such form it is little surprise that the Rio de Janeiro native has won the best server of the year award for a fifth successive season.
