DIEGO MARADONA has officially quit Argentina side Gimnasia after just two months in charge.
The 59-year-old World Cup legend was alleged to have met with close friends at his home in Buenos Aires last weekend to discuss his exit from the top-flight club.

Speaking of Maradona’s departure, club president Gabriel Pellegrino said the Hand of God icon told him: “I want to add, not to divide.”
Maradona did not take training today and this marks the end of what is believed to be his EIGHTH club in management.
Pellegrino added: “Maradona stopped working today. He is no longer the manager of Gimnasia.
“He would love to stay but what he wants is unity.”
Maradona – whose documentary Maradona in Mexico was released on Netflix just days ago – was presented as manager on September 8.
He took over with the side bottom of the 24-club Superliga and leaves them in 22nd with three wins in their past five games.
His last match at the helm was a 3-0 triumph over second-bottom Aldosivi last weekend.
Before that he was pictured sitting on a throne pitchside when he took charge of Gimnasia against his former club Newell’s Old Boys last month.
And there was a “terrifying” mascot unveiled in his honour too.
This was Maradona’s first managerial job in his homeland since 2010 – when he left the national team.

And it did not come without typical Maradona wackiness.
Being very superstitious, the former Boca Juniors and Napoli genius has banned the colour green.
And one of his first acts was to bring a priest to the training ground to bless the players and dispel the bad energy he thought had accumulated in the previous months.
