Watch Eden Hazard nutmeg the referee in stunning solo run before helping set up first goal in Real Madrid’s clash vs PSG

EDEN HAZARD won the praise of fans after he nutmegged the referee in a solo run that helped set up Real Madrid’s first goal in their 2-2 draw with PSG.

The ex-Chelsea winger picked up the ball on half way, shrugged off challenges from Marquinhos and Thomas Meunier before coming away with possession.

As Hazard comes in from the left just inside his half, he runs into the ref, but coolly rolls the ball through the official’s legs.

The Belgian star then lays it off to Federico Valverde on the right flank setting up an attack.

Hazard’s tricky skills paid off as Isco got on the end of a cross which hit the post, allowing Karim Benzema to slot home the rebound for 1-0.

Frenchman Benzema led the celebrations but fans online were more interested in hailing Hazard’s cheeky nutmeg on the ref.

One said: “That goal all started with Hazard’s nutmeg of the referee. Merciless.”

Another said: “Hazard coming good – phenomenal play in the build-up to Benzema’s goal, including a courtesy nutmeg of the referee.”

One added: “Eden Hazard nutmegged the ref man’s having a great game.”

Hazard came off injured with an ankle injury just before Benzema put Real two up, and manager Zinedine Zidane fears his No7 could be sidelined for the El Clasico on December 18.

Zidane said: “There is a little worry over Hazard at full time.

“He was in pain and we think it is more than an impact injury. It is a sprained ankle, but hopefully not a severe sprain.

“We will know more in the coming days.”

Zidane will have further headaches after his side squandered their two goal lead after strikes from Kylian Mbappe and Pablo Sarabia meant the Champions League group stage points were shared.

Real face Alaves in their next match, sitting behind table topping La Liga champions Barcelona only on goal difference.
