Tottenham left red-faced after not knowing where new boss Jose Mourinho is from in magazine gaffe

RED-faced Tottenham officials scored an own goal after not knowing where their new boss is from.

Spurs’ official One Hotspur Junior membership magazine said Portuguese Jose Mourinho was from Argentina.

And confused young fans quickly spotted the error.

Bungling staff confused new boss Jose with sacked former manager Mauricio Pochettino, who was born in Murphy, Argentina.

In the latest edition of the ‘OHJ’ mag – free to members or for sale at £3.99 – an “ultimate Spurs quiz” asked, “Which country does Jose Mourinho come from?”

The question was given a “two point toughness rating”.

Despite including the correct answer ‘Portugal’ as one of the three options, the answer at the back of the glossy magazine incorrectly stated that it was “Argentina”.

And one nine-year-old Spurs fan said: “I was rubbing my eyes in disbelief at the answer.

“Whoever was responsible for this should get a red card.

“It’s an easy answer and a bit embarrassing.”

A 12-year-old Spurs supporter said: “Maybe the club is missing Pochettino too much.

“Jose is our boss now and he’s from Setubal in Portugal.”

The newly released mag has features on striker Son Heung-min’s – whose recent red card appeal was rejected – life back in Korea and a profile on 19-year-old signing Ryan Sessegnon.
