REAL MADRID may have endured a miserable season – but they finally have something to cheer about after being named as the world’s most valuable football brand.
While Los Blancos also took top spot for having the world’s best stadium, with the Bernabeu triumphing ahead of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Old Trafford.

According to Brand Finance, Zinedine Zidane’s side have leapfrogged above Manchester United to become the most valuable club brand.
They are worth an estimated £1.4billion compared the Red Devils’ £1.2bn, with Real also named as the strongest brand.
Barcelona came in third spot above Bayern Munich, with Manchester City completing the top five with a value of £1.1bn.
And Madrid’s commercial success didn’t end there after they completed their hat-trick of triumphs by coming first in the the stadia performance ranking.
The Bernabeu – which will shortly undertake a £500m revamp – was given a ‘venue score’ of 74.3, after being judged on ‘Match Day Experience’, ‘Appeal to Broadcasters’ and ‘Match Impact’.
Borussia Dortmund was just pipped to the post by the Spanish outfit, after Signal Iduna Park was rated 72.3.
While their Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich finished in third spot with the Allianz Arena given a score of 71.6.
Tottenham’s new ground came in fourth with 70.5, narrowly finishing above United who settled for a rating of 70.4
No other English clubs were included in the top 10 as Ajax followed Barcelona, while Serie A duo Inter and AC Milan finished eighth and ninth, as Schalke completed the list.
Speaking of Madrid, Brand Finance director Bryn Anderson said: “Real have shown this year who truly reigns supreme in the world of football.
“They triumph not only as the most valuable and strongest brand but their enterprise value and stadium are also ranked second to none.
“The most successful club in the history of European football is finally reaping the benefits of decades of spectacular on- and off-pitch performance.”
