Paul Pogba OUT of the Man Utd squad as fans question Frenchman’s absence after recent return to action

PAUL POGBA is OUT of the Manchester United squad to face Burnley.

The Frenchman played 35 minutes against Watford on December 22 and another 45 minutes against Newcastle on Boxing Day.

It was his first action for the club since picking up an ankle injury at the end of September – a problem that caused him to miss 20 games.

But with United facing their third game in just six days, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has decided not even to name the star on the bench.

United also travel to Arsenal on New Year’s Day.

Solskjaer cleared up his thought process, stating it was too soon for the midfielder.

He said: “Paul has played in two games and has been out for a while.

“It didn’t feel right to play him today.”

Some fans, however, were not happy with the decision – with some thinking it’s a sign he’ll LEAVE in January.

Keith Edwards wrote on Twitter: “Pogba hasn’t even travelled to Burnley, I’d say he’s definitely off in January.”

Gerry Jones added: “Waiting for the pictures of Pogba at the airport again.”

Deno said: “No sign of Pogba. He’s leaving.”

Others said resting the World Cup winner is a good move.

Alex summed up plenty of fans’ feelings when he wrote: “If we manage to get the the points tonight and then have a fully rested Pogba for the Arsenal game, Ole has pulled off a master stroke.

“If we get beat tonight, the Arsenal game becomes pretty pointless and Ole looks a right tit.

“Fine margins in management. Fingers crossed we win.”
