Mohamed Salah set to return from injury for Liverpool in Champions League to face Napoli, Jurgen Klopp confirms

MOHAMED SALAH could be back in action for Liverpool against Napoli in the Champions League tomorrow.

The 27-year-old was an unused substitute in Saturday’s 2-1 win over Crystal Palace due to an ongoing ankle issue.

But the winger is ready to return to help his team who could qualify for the knockout stages with a win.

Salah has been in brilliant form this season – chipping in with nine goals and five assists in 17 games in all competitions.

However the news is not so good for defender Joel Matip who has been out since October 20 with a knee injury.

Boss Jurgen Klopp said “Mo looks really good in training. We will see but I am not worried about it.

“He looked really good in training on Monday but the session was not so heavy yesterday. He will train again later today.

“Joel is improving but still some time away from the team.

“He will have a scan and we will see. You cannot rush things.”

Liverpool could top the group and qualify with a game to spare if they win against crisis-hit Napoli, who beat the Reds 2-0 earlier in the season.

Klopp said: “The biggest mistake for us would be to think we have won the group. Napoli have some sensational players.”

The Merseyside outfit are point above the Serie A side in Group E.
