MAURICIO POCHETTINO is a Tottenham manager no more.
Spurs have decided that 14th in the Premier League is simply not good enough for a team that was in the Champions League final just five months ago and have decided to part ways with the Argentine.

Despite the ongoing criticism of a lack of silverware from Tottenham and rival fans, Pochettino was a hugely popular figure in the club, helping to blood young talent like Harry Kane, Harry Winks and Dele Alli – all while being handed a limited budget.

In five years as Tottenham boss, Pochettino failed to add any significant trophies to the Spurs cabinet with only pre-season tournament Audi Cup being lifted by Kane and co.
Yet, the North Londoners were regulars in the top four, finishing just behind Chelsea in fourth last season – in a campaign where much focus went on the Champions League, only losing to Liverpool in the final.
Pochettino was just seven games off the 300-match mark at Tottenham, winning 159 of them.
That is a win percentage of 54.3 – by comparison Manchester United’s own pressured manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has just a 51 percent victory success rate.
The loss category featured 72 games, working out just over 13 defeats a season – which would at least include three losses in the cup competition each year.
Pochettino’s biggest win at Tottenham came in a 7-0 thrashing against Tranmere in January 2019, while October’s 7-2 defeat to Bayern Munich will be a huge stain on his record.
Who will replace Pochettino?
As ever, a new manger will need to be found sooner rather than later.
And the hot favourite is none than the ‘Special One’ – ex-Manchester United and Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.
Yet, the odds thereafter range from interesting to ‘out there’.
Current Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti is joint-second with Julian Nagelsmann, who is doing spectacular things with RB Leipzig despite being just 32 years old.
Free agent Rafael Benitez comes in next at 6/1 on Ladbrokes, having been released by Newcastle at the end of last season.
