Boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said it had set Pogba back ‘quite a bit’.
Yet hours earlier the 26-year-old — who has not played for 11 weeks — was seen dancing enthusiastically at his brother’s wedding in France on Friday.
Sources close to Pogba say he is keen to leave and has no interest in extending his contract, which has 2½ years to run.
United previously stated he would not be sold in January and maintain that nothing has changed now.
Boss Solskjaer, whose side host Colchester in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals tonight, said: “Of all things Paul’s struck down ill now.
“He’s been off for two or three days — three days probably — so that’s not beneficial.
“That’s probably set him back quite a bit.
“As I’ve said so many times, Paul’s a top, top player that we want to see playing his best football at Man United.”
Pog was pictured walking his dog near his Cheshire home on Monday and in November was snapped playing basketball with Miami Heat while out injured.
