Lingard handed out Christmas presents in celebration of Coca-Cola’s ten-year-long partnership with StreetGames.
The gifts included footballs, kit bags, football socks and beanies.
Lingard then joined in for a five-a-side kickabout, much to the delight of the youngsters.
Coca-Cola ambassador Lingard said: “I have always loved the Coca-Cola Christmas Truck.
“It’s iconic and I can’t believe I got to drive in it through my hometown to surprise the players this evening!
“Football has given me everything. I was always out playing with friends every opportunity I got, so I’m really happy to support that brilliant work StreetGames is doing to bring the sport to even more people.
“It was great fun to bring a bit of festive excitement and get involved this evening!”
Kris Robbens, marketing director for Coca-Cola Great Britain and Ireland, said: “We are very proud of our 10-year partnership with StreetGames and we continue to support their aim to provide aspiring young adults with more access to the sport they love via our ‘Where Everyone Plays’ campaign.
“We’re really excited to have Jesse help us bring some extra Christmas magic to people in Manchester and what better to deliver gifts than by the Coca-Cola Christmas truck!”
Lingard, 26, has scored one goal in 20 appearances for Man Utd this season.
After starring in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Man City at the Etihad, Lingard revealed he was back to his best, saying: “I feel good, I feel back to myself, I feel fit, I feel sharp.
“I love working for the team, I love winning games and playing matches.
“Yes [Jesse’s] back, he’s back now, he is there. People go through dips in form.
“It’s just about finding the right balance and getting back to your usual self which I have.
“Of course you’re frustrated when you’re not playing. You’ve still got to have the right attitude and right mentality when you do go on and try to make an impact.
“I felt like I did against Sheffield United and from there I’ve kicked on.”
