Man Utd ‘expect two new players to join in January transfer window’ with Erling Haaland and Jadon Sancho among targets

MANCHESTER UNITED expect two new players to join in January with Erling Haaland and Jadon Sancho among their key targets, according to reports.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to bring in two star names this winter in a bid to break back into the top four.

United have been linked with mega-money Haaland and Sancho in recent weeks, with both set to cost a combined £200million.

Solskjaer was thought to be confident of landing red-hot Red Bull Salzburg star Haaland this January in a deal worth around £76m.

The Old Trafford chief has earmarked the 19-year-old to be his No1 target.

But United may also opt to save their money in order to beat Chelsea and Liverpool to the punch in landing Borussia Dortmund winger Sancho.

The England star, 19, is being chased by a host of Europe’s top clubs in a £127m transfer, with United optimistic about their chances.

Sancho is more likely to move in the summer, with Dortmund all but admitted they know they will lose their star man.

But United may be tempted to splash a little extra cash in a bid to bring him back to Manchester – having formerly been on City’s youth team books – next month.

Haaland, though, seems the more likely to be on the move this winter – and he sparked intense speculation after being snapped at the airport earlier this week.

Fans went wild after the RB Salzburg star was spotted at Sola Airport in Norway, with United fans certain he was on his way to Manchester.

But dad and former Man City star, Alf-Inge, cleared up any confusion by saying: “Come on… have another guess.”

Solskjaer also played down reports Haaland was on way to discuss a deal at Old Trafford.

He said: “I don’t think he is en route here, to be fair. Not through me, anyway.

“You know I can’t comment on other teams’ players. I’ve said that many a time.

“He’s not coming to Manchester because… well, I know the boy, and his friends and all this.

“He’s on a Christmas holiday. No [not in Manchester], but you can’t fly anywhere from Stavanger, can you, so you need to go via [somewhere].”
