Lampard tells Pulisic ‘I expect more’ as Chelsea boss questions American’s goalscoring rate

FRANK LAMPARD has demanded more of Christian Pulisic and asked for more goals from the American.

The 21-year-old has bagged five goals from 13 Premier League appearances for the Blues so far this season but his boss thinks he can do better.

Chelsea face Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge today and speaking ahead of the game, Lampard set the bar high for the talented winger.

Asked what he expects from the ex-Borussia Dortmund man, Lampard said: “More, a lot more.

“I have just mentioned there about conversion of chances.

“I think he gets himself in so many good positions with his talent and his dribbling ability that I think more goals will be the next stage of that.

“I’m really pleased with him. I have asked a lot of him.

“He has played a lot of games recently, back to back, in a new league that we know is very physical for him.

“I am asking a lot, he has done very well. But I expect a lot more.”

Pulisic has already made 20 appearances in all competitions for the Blues since his debut off the bench against Manchester United at Old Trafford in August.

But the wideman had to wait until October 26 for his first goal which seemed to open the floodgates as he went on to grab a hat-trick against Burnley in that same game.

He went on to score in his next two games but the goals have dried up since and he has now failed to find the net in the Blues’ last four games.

The USA international signed from Borussia Dortmund in January 2019 but was loaned back to the Germans until the end of the season and only joined up with Chelsea properly this summer.
