MAURICIO POCHETTINO has sensationally been linked with replacing Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
Despite the Spaniard’s contract running out in the summer of 2021, there were rumours that it had a one-year break clause.

While these have been shot down by Guardiola, SunSport has exclusively revealed that sacked Spurs boss Pochettino could be holding out for the top job at the Etihad.
Real Madrid are also believed to be sniffing around the Argentinian, despite having Zinedine Zidane at the helm.
If Poch does indeed succeed Guardiola, it’s likely he would go back to his old club to raid some of their top stars.
And it won’t make happy reading for Spurs fans.

Ederson will keep his place in goal, the Brazilian continues to impress despite the defence in front of him liable to error.
It is the backline that Poch would look to improve.
And he could plot a shock move for Jan Vertonghen at the Tottenham Stadium.
The two appeared to be at loggerheads at the start of the season, with Pochettino dropping the Belgian from the squad.
FINDING SILVA’S SUCCESSOR
But they patched things up and Vertonghen was soon back in favour.
The centre-half even admitted that the players had to take responsibility for Poch’s sacking.
He seems like the perfect partner for Aymeric Laporte.
Kyle Walker and Benjamin Mendy would likely be the first choice full-backs.
City have an abundance of riches in midfield, but one player they MUST replace is David Silva, who will leave in the summer.
ALLI TO BE REVITALISED?
And if Poch gets his feet under the Etihad table, he could well solve that most pressing of problems with a swoop for Dele Alli.
After a sluggish start the England man is finally clicking into form, though he appears to have gone a bit stale at Spurs.
Rodri would provide the defensive base with Fernandinho’s contract expiring in the summer, with Kevin De Bruyne covering all areas with his elaborate skills.
Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva would provide the attacking threat down the flanks, hopefully supplying the man who could replace City legend Sergio Aguero.
Pochettino would SURELY wish to make a move for Harry Kane. He trusted the 26-year-old with the captaincy and helped develop him into one of the world’s best strikers.
It would be the thing of nightmares for Tottenham supporters.
