GARY LINEKER has hailed Son Heung-Min’s stunning solo strike against Burnley as the “goal of the season.”
The South Korean star ran the length of the field before slotting a cool finish beyond Burnley stopper Nick Pope to put a rampant Spurs 3-0 up before half-time in their Premier League clash.

The goal, which was Son’s 10th of the season, saw the 27-year-old skip past a number of challenges and leave a desperate Burnley defence in his wake.
Such was the pace with which he broke, Son covered 80 yards in just 12 seconds as he made a case to close the betting on the goal of the season award.
Lineker was quick to praise the goal as he took to twitter to declare he felt it deserved to be heralded as one of the finest solo strikes of all time.
The former Spurs forward was far from alone in his praise of Son’s effort as fans across social media reacted in awe to the brilliant individual goal.
One user named Mjdj replied to Lineker’s tweet by saying: “Goal of the decade. Better than anything Messi has scored.”
Another simply wrote “Won’t be beaten!! unbelievable” while another said “I second you, it’s goal of the season so far.”
Rapper AJ Tracey, who is a well-known Spurs fan, was clearly impressed with Son’s strike and also took the chance to praise the Spurs number seven.
He tweeted: “Son is the f***ing man. Maybe one of the best Tottenham goals I’ve ever seen.”

Some were not so enamoured with the strike, however, with many choosing to highlight some suspect defending from Sean Dyche’s Burnley side during the build up.
Lee’tle Jones wrote: “Hardly Gary. Does he actually go past anyone???” and Michael Cantwell added: “Wasn’t that bloody good. he only actually beat two men, the rest were just running around him.”
Son’s effort came as Spurs made a flying start against Burnley which saw them lead 2-0 with only nine minutes on the clock.
The quick start provided the perfect response to the 2-1 defeat suffered at the hands of Manchester United last time out, which provided the first loss of Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham tenure.
Son has himself admitted that it will take time for Spurs to get used to Mourinho’s management style after spending so long under the leadership of Mauricio Pochettino.
Spurs have taken on a more direct approach under Mourinho, but Son is convinced the club will prosper with the former Manchester United and Chelsea man at the helm.
