Cristiano Ronaldo grabs his crotch in obscene gesture to fans who taunt him with ‘Messi’ chants after Juventus loss

CRISTIANO RONALDO reacted with an obscene gesture after “Messi” taunts from fans following Juve’s Italian Super Cup loss to Lazio on Sunday.

Footage has emerged of the 34-year-old superstar grabbing his crotch in the direction of supporters that had been chanting the name of his great rival at him.

Ronaldo is not used to losing finals, and his side’s disappointing 3-1 loss was clearly a factor in him losing his head.

In fact, the Super Cup defeat ended a remarkable run of 14 consecutive victories in finals across his spells with Real Madrid, Portugal and Juventus.

Initially it appeared that the Portuguese icon would keep his cool.

His first response to the taunts, to which he normally doesn’t react, was to smile and nod, with his thumb up, as if to mock the chanting fans.

But Ronaldo struggled to keep his cool, moments later offering up the obscene gesture.

He had already illustrated what a huff he was in, when he instantly ripped off his runner-up medal during the trophy ceremony on the pitch.

The match was the latest major sporting event to take place in Saudi Arabia.

The Gulf State earlier this month hosted the Anthony Joshua vs Andy Ruiz Jr fight, as well as the Diriyah Tennis Cup at the same venue.

Ronaldo was the latest major attraction in Riyadh, but it appears fans would have preferred Lionel Messi.

Luis Alberto gave Lazio the lead in the first half.

The crowd did get to see a little glimpse of Ronaldo magic when he shifted the ball onto his left foot after a trademark stepover – his subsequent shot parried by the goalkeeper, with Paulo Dybala following in to net the equaliser on the stroke of half time.

Lazio scored twice more in the second half to win the trophy though, leaving Ronaldo fuming.

Juventus return to action on January 6, and currently sit behind Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan on goal difference in the Serie A title race.
