Borussia Dortmund target Sao Paulo star Antony as Jadon Sancho replacement amid Chelsea and Man Utd transfer interest

BORUSSIA DORTMUND are reportedly chasing Sao Paulo youngster Antony, as they seek a long-term replacement for Jadon Sancho.

The Englishman is being courted by the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea – and it is no secret that he is likely to leave BVB in the summer.

Antony, 19, has been a regular for Sao Paulo in 2019 – and has caught the eye for the Brazilian side.

Any European side attempting to prise him away from his native Brazil are expected to have to pay around £17million for his services.

The Brazilian side have Antony under contract until 2023 – meaning there is no immediate pressure to sell their talented youngster.

Antony has registered four goals and six assists in 29 games in his first full season in the senior set-up.

He also made his Copa Libertadores debut – as well as breaking into the Brazil Under-23s side.

According to Bild, Dortmund want to initially bring Antony in as back-up for the in-form Sancho – before inevitably losing the former Manchester City man in the summer.

Sancho is believed to have been unsettled by Dortmund and was dropped in October.

It started when he was axed from their squad after returning late from England duty.

And he felt scapegoated for the club’s poor form.

But since returning to the starting XI, Sancho has been on fire, scoring seven goals and assisting a further four in his last six games.

Manchester United and Chelsea are thought to be the favourites to land the 19-year-old.

But Liverpool and Manchester City are also expected to be in the mix.
