Aubameyang’s Arsenal goal should have been ruled out claim fans after SECOND ball thrown on pitch during play

ARSENAL’S second goal in their clash with Norwich was scored with two balls on the pitch – and some fans were fuming.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang lashed home from close range from a corner to draw Freddie Ljungberg’s side level for the second time in the game.

But in the seconds before the Arsenal star lashed the ball into the back of the net, another ball was launched from the stands and bounced into the penalty area.

Its arrival distracted the eye of the television viewers and those watching from one side of the ground at Carrow Road, where the game finished in a 2-2 draw.

But it did nothing to catch the attention of players from either side, who all concentrated on play as normal as Norwich failed to deal with the corner and the ball was slotted home.

Ref Paul Tierney had no hesitation in awarding the goal to Aubameyang, even though he looked behind him – clearly aware of the arrival of the second ball.

The official was within his rights to award the goal, but it did not go down well with football fans on social media who were convinced it should have been ruled out.

Twitter user @SpainAddick wrote: “If the laws of the game are being followed by the letter, then Arsenal’s second goal should be disallowed as there were 2 balls on the pitch.

“If encroachment from a penalty makes them take it again, this rule should also apply”.

But @Irish_Lil_Kel said: “Norwich fans singing  “Same old arsenal always cheating”

“But yet they threw a second ball onto the pitch just before aubameyang scored our second goal to try stop play…”
