But he was unable to guide his side to victory at the weekend as the Gunners drew 2-2 away at Norwich.
But that result hasn’t worked against him as far as Ladbrokes’ odds go for him landing the job.
The Swede is 4/1, the same price as out-of-work Italian Max Allegri.
Next in the betting is former Arsenal midfielder and now Manchester City coach Mikel Arteta at 5/1.
Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers, who continues to impress having guided the Foxes well and truly in title contention, is next best at 7/1.
HERO SET TO RETURN?
Mauricio Pochettino, who is the favourite with Ladbrokes to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United, is 8/1.
Further down the betting comes former Gunners ace Patrick Vieira.
The 43-year-old is currently manager of French outfit Nice, but would surely snap Arsenal’s hand off to replace Emery at The Emirates.
Rodgers could be a good bet, after SunSport reported how he has a a clause in his contract allowing him to leave if a big offer came in for him.
After his side secured a dramatic late win over Everton to stay second in the Premier League, Rodgers said: “Listen, there are probably clauses in most managers’ contracts.
“It’s all hypothetical. We got a brilliant win. We came back very well.
“I made a change eight, nine months ago. I feel so happy. We still have a lot of work to do.
“I’ve been very fortunate to work with some brilliant clubs and great institutions. The ambition was to help the club to arrive in the top six.”
