It marks a breakaway from Sky Deutchland’s monopoly on the competition in Germany.
And Amazon could yet emerge victorious in the battle for even more Champions League matches, including the final.
Their triumph in Germany comes on the back of an entire Premier League game week being broadcast online.
Fans flocked to Amazon Prime Video for their coverage of every single match last week.
A host of top-name pundits were involved, including Alan Shearer, Thierry Henry and Harry Redknapp.
And viewers were treated to a host of top matches, including Man Utd’s 2-1 win over Spurs and Liverpool’s 5-2 triumph against Everton in the Merseyside derby.
There were some issues with streams though, as some supporters were receiving notifications from betting and club ups over a minute BEFORE the action occurred on their screens.
Despite that, the new endeavour has been widely seen as a success.
And Premier League followers will get their pick of all the action again with Amazon on Boxing Day.
