BRIT ALEX SIMS capped off making Formula E history in Saudi Arabia by winning his first race in the all-electric series.
The BMW man became the first driver to secure three consecutive pole positions in FE before taking his first victory.
The Londoner’s record-breaking poles came twice this season in Riyadh and in the final race last season in New York.
Sims cruised to victory in the second round in Riyadh and was relieved to finally convert his qualifying form into his first win.
Sims said: “It was a relief.
“The pressure is obviously there when you don’t win twice after starting on pole.
“So to get it on the third time is a lovely feeling – relief is certainly one of those emotions.”
The 31-year-old’s victory comes after starting on pole the day before in round one, only to finish the race in eighth.
Fellow Brit Sam Bird suffered heartache following his opening day victory as he retired from the race.
The Virgin driver was battling for third but his attempts opened the door Jaguar’s Mitch Evans.
Evans clipped Bird who appeared to regain control from the collision before Pascal Weihrlein hit him in the aftermath, leaving Bird in the barriers.
Defending two-time champion Jean-Eric Vergne failed to score points again after finishing in 19th – after retiring in round one.
