ANTHONY JOSHUA insists a showdown with Deontay Wilder should be staged in the UK.
The 30-year-old has long wanted a shot at the Bronze Bomber as he wishes to pick up his WBC strap in order to become the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999.

AJ is already faced with the prospect of vacating one of his belts after he was ordered to agree world title defences against Kubrat Pulev AND Oleksandr Usyk.
Bulgarian ace Pulev is the IBF mandatory, while Usyk is the WBO’s next contender following his move up from cruiserweight.
Meanwhile, Wilder is set for a rematch against Tyson Fury on February 22 following their epic draw in December 2018.
If the American overcomes the Gypsy King then the clamour for a unification fight with the Brit will only intensify.
But Joshua is adamant it makes much more sense for Wilder to travel to these shores rather himself heading Stateside.
He told IFL TV: “80,000 people or an arena that can hold 15,000 elsewhere?
“It makes sense to have it here [in the UK].”
The star, who reclaimed his heavyweight gold from Andy Ruiz in Saudi Arabia on December 7, added: “That’s probably what’s holding it up, we want it here.
“Obviously there’s broadcasters, but we have to look at what makes sense for the division.
“Sometimes you’ve got to go across the pond to make it work.”
