The American sportswear company hoped to negotiate a new deal with the Premier League giants, but it has been outbid by a rival supplier.

According to Sport Business, Adidas has agreed a deal worth over £50m-a-year with Liverpool that will run from the start of the 2025-26 season.

The agreement will run until the end of the 2029-30 campaign.

Adidas outbid both Nike and fellow sports retailer Puma to secure the deal.

Liverpool’s kits were last supplied by the German company from 2006 to 2012 before an agreement with Warrior Sports was struck.

Adidas also partnered with the Reds from 1985 to 1996, during which time they won three league titles and three FA Cups.

The sportswear brand also sponsors Arsenal and it is adored by fans.

Adidas has won over Gunners supporters in recent years by paying homage to iconic kits such as the club’s ‘Bruised Banana’ strip from the 1990’s.
