Josh Taylor claims he has NOT ducked Jack Catterall for rematch fight and slams rival as ‘cry baby’

JOSH TAYLOR insists he has not ducked out of the Jack Catterall rematch — and labelled his spurned nemesis a ‘cry baby’.Taylor, 32, retained his four super-lightweight world titles last February with a controversial points win.

But the rerun has just been cancelled for a third time, with the Tartan Tornado blaming a foot injury.
And he now looks set to accept the WBO mandatory challenge — for the one belt he was not forced to vacate — from 25-year-old Teofimo Lopez.
Catterall and Taylor were pulled apart when the third date was scrapped last month so there is enough bad blood for it to be revisited soon.
Undefeated Taylor said: “I had given up and sacrificed a lot to make that fight happen.

“I had vacated my titles to make this happen and been offered bigger and better fights but said no.
“I wanted to put all that doubt about me to bed and move on with my career and then the injury happened.
“It was out of my control and I just have to roll with the punches.”
Chorley southpaw Catterall, 29, accused Taylor of running scared.

But Taylor, who is 19-0, said: “I became undisputed world champion on the road. I went to America to win the last of the belts.
“To say I am afraid of anyone is ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous.
“The way he and his team are moaning and crying about it, they are just moaning cry babies, they are sore losers.
“I am sure he will get the chance to rectify it one day but I highly doubt that he will get anywhere near me.”
Taylor added: “Lopez is a huge fight.
“He is a big character with a lot to say and he has been shouting my name out for a long time.”

But it will come at the cost of leaving girlfriend Molly-Mae and new-born daughter Bambi ahead of the fight of his life.
Alongside an adorable snap, captioned ‘Our champ’, Molly-Mae wrote: “And he’s off to go get that win. We will miss you dadda… So beyond proud of you.”
Fury, due to travel to Riyadh, wrote on his own post: “Best camp of my entire life. Saudi… I’m coming.”
Ever the troll merchant, Paul quickly commented on Fury’s post: “Can’t wait to see you daddy.”

Fury, 23, has twice pulled out of fighting Paul, 26, in the past due to a rib injury in December 2021 and US visa issue last August.
But they hope it will be third time lucky after they once more rescheduled their grudge match, this time on neutral ground.
And Paul could not resist the chance to aim another dig at Fury and his past pullouts.
He swiped: “Wow he’s actually gonna show up.”

‘Demolition job’ – Tommy Fury’s girlfriend Molly-Mae hits back at Jake Paul over YouTuber revealing she gave birth

Just days after the clash was confirmed last month, Molly-Mae welcomed daughter Bambi into the world.
But the pair had not publicly said anything about the birth when Paul came out and revealed the news.
Now Molly-Mae has responded with a short, sharp comment to the internet star.
Speaking in one of her YouTube vlogs, Fury referenced his bout with Paul by saying: “26th Feb, be there or be square”.

Molly-Mae then swiftly added: “For a demolition job!”
Paul gave an apology of sorts after revealing Bambi’s birth, telling SportBible; “Did I do that? I leaked it? Oh s***. My bad. I’m sorry, Tommy.
“But don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone the gender or anything like that.”
However, he quickly switched back to trash-talking the Love Island star when Fury failed to show up to their press conference in Riyadh on Wednesday.

Commenting on Fury’s absence, which was due to training responsibilities and “private matters”, Paul said: “I’m used to his behaviour at this point, he’s unprofessional and he’s a flake.
“He’s not a serious businessman or a serious fighter and I’m going to prove that. It’s why this fight is called, ‘The Truth’, because the truth is going to come out. He’s going to have to pay for all of the times he’s pulled out.
“All the business people he screwed over, it’s disrespectful. There’s some of the biggest names in boxing, the biggest promoters and most influential people in the world.
“One of the greatest countries in the world and he doesn’t want to show up because of a ‘private matter’. We all have private matters.
“When you sign up to do something, you make a commitment, that’s what it should be about.
“It just shows me he’s scared because he said he didn’t need to train for this fight. Meanwhile, his first excuse was that he needed to train extra, but now it’s a private matter.
“I love Tyson but it’s typical from the dad [John] and Tommy.”
Fury’s failure to turn up to the presser has led to concerns over whether the bout will go ahead.
He has pulled out of the fight twice in the past, but attempted to reassure fans in a recent interview.
He told MMA Fighting: “I can clear that up in two seconds [the press conference no-show].
“Basically, Jake Paul signed up into the world of professional boxing and I am a professional athlete, a professional boxer.
“I always have been and [ask] any professional boxer and they’ll tell you this.
“No one breaks camp, mid to the end [of training camp] to fly all the way to Saudi Arabia, have a 10-minute press conference, fly all the way back to Manchester, complete my camp then fly all the way back to Saudi Arabia again the following week.

“Now why the press conference couldn’t wait until a week later on fight week is beyond me.
“Most big fights, they schedule press conferences on fight week. I don’t know what is going on there.” More

Newcastle star Joelinton holds his balloon-filled baby gender reveal on the St James’ Park pitch with wife and two kids

JOELINTON went from Toon main man to balloon game fan with a spectacular gender reveal at St James’ Park. The crowd favourite endeared himself to Newcastle supporters even more by choosing the cherished turf for his own personal big moment.
Newcastle midfielder Joelinton and his family had fun on the pitch revealing the gender of their third baby
For once at St James’ Park blue was the colour worth celebrating
The Brazilian, partner Thays Gondim and their two children waited on the halfway line – gazing at a goal covered in pink and blue balloons.
Joelinton then booted a ball in the air – the signal for launching a mass of blue flares and streamers.
His family reacted with wild excitement, leaping around and sharing hugs.
They then spoke to the camera about their new boy joy.

It’s also a thrilling time for Joelinton in his more normal role on the pitch.
His form took off after manager Eddie Howe moved him back from a striking role last season.
And the 26-year-old has maintained that dynamism this term for a Saudi-backed Newcastle side who sit fourth in the Premier League.
Now Brazil are monitoring Joelinton ever closer, with a first international call-up likely.

First, though, the South Americans must find a successor to Tite.
The manager stepped down after six years in charge following Brazil’s World Cup 2022 quarter-final exit against Croatia.
Real Madrid chief Carlo Ancelotti, as well as ex-Spain and Barcelona boss Luis Enrique, are among major names mentioned as contenders.
For Joelinton, then, it’s a momentous year all round – as he awaits his third child and hopes for Champions League football and his first cap.

Fury, 23, was forced to pull out in December 2021 due to a rib injury and then last August amid US visa issues.
So after agreeing to reschedule on neutral ground, Paul, 26, claimed rival was left with “no excuses”.
But he also used the social media dig to bring up the birth of Fury and Molle-Mae’s baby daughter, which at the time had not been announced.
Paul posted: “After multiple failed attempts to get Tommy Fury in the ring, the moment of truth has finally arrived.

“Fumbles has no excuses now. Baby is born. Money is massive. Immigration is not an issue.”
Paul made the claim on January 27, and Molly-Mae later revealed baby Bambi was born four days prior to that.
The YouTuber-turned prizefighter hosted a Q&A on Instagram and was asked if he should apologise for leaking the birth.
Paul responded: “No she should pay me for giving that baby more clout.”

In an interview with TalkTV’s Piers Morgan, Fury was probed on the American’s move to announce his child’s birth.
And he said: “At the end of the day, all Jake Paul can do from wherever he is in this world is speculate, and that’s all that was.
“Speculation, nothing is ever true unless you hear it from me and Molly. It’s part and parcel, it’s what we have to do.”
Fury admitted the mental and verbal warfare is part of the fight game – but warned Paul’s famous antics cannot save him in the ring.
He said: “It comes with the entertainment business, that’s what we’re in, and me and Jake Paul are great dance partners, and I’ve enjoyed the build up so far, it’s going to get a lot more heated, and I can’t wait.
“Social media can’t save Jake Paul, his mouth can’t save him, it comes down to fighting.”

The pay-per-view bout will come just a month after the 2019 Love Islander welcomed his baby daughter Bambi into the world with Molly-Mae.
And in an interview with Rob Moore, before his baby’s birth, Fury admitted the mega-money fight with Paul was too good to turn down.
He said: “I was earning my stripes. But if you want to slap millions of pounds in front of my face to fight Jake Paul, why am I not going to do that?
“I’ve got a family to feed now any day – the reason I’ve taken the Jake Paul fight is it’s financially good.”

Fury, 23, is finally set to get his hands on Paul, 26, after twice being forced to pull out against the American before.
He suffered a rib injury in December 2021 and then US visa issues last August, which has taken the two to the Middle East.
Both are set to pick up life-changing cheques for their duel in the desert, but Fury recognises there is more than just money on the line.
Fury added: “He can’t get underneath my skin because I know what he’s doing.

“He’s a whizz on social media, he’s made a living off being an idiot, arrogant and calling people out. It is what it is, but he can’t get underneath my skin.
“All I see with Jake Paul is a business and if you want me to beat a man who can’t fight and throw millions of pounds in my face, not a problem, sign me up and that’s purely what this is.
“I’ve described it all the time as being on Route 66 and I need to stop off in my campervan, fill it up and get back on the road.
“I am on a straight and narrow road to world titles. But you want me to take a slight detour for an awful lot of fuel, pick that up and then jump back on the road?
“That’s exactly what I’m doing here at the end of the day. This is a business; you’ve got to use your head and every fighter in my position would take that fight if it got offered to them.”

Tyson Fury reveals his advice to brother Tommy on juggling a newborn with the biggest fight of his life vs Jake Paul

TYSON FURY has all the advice in the world for little brother Tommy juggling a new baby and the biggest flight of his life. The 23-year-old and his Love Island darling Molly-Mae Hague announced the birth of their first child on Monday night.

But, just 48 hours earlier, a topless Tommy had been in a Wembley ring announcing his February 26 showdown with American YouTuber Jake Paul with a scuffle.
Injuries and visa issues have twice forced Tommy to pull out of the Saudi Arabia spectacle which has been two years in the making.
And Tyson and dad John have both vowed to disown Tommy if he loses and shames the fighting family name.
The pressure and clock are counting against Tommy but his 34-year-old WBC heavyweight king sibling has been through almost identical struggles – twice.

In 2021 – after nights spent sleeping on hospital floors and jogging around car parks – Tyson showed incredible courage and professionalism to leave poorly newborn Athena and wife Paris to fly to Las Vegas and demolish Deontay Wilder in their iconic third clash.
And, in 2009 on the night his first baby was born, Tyson was away in Ireland winning his ninth pro fight – and is still getting it in the ear to this day.
The father-of-six and now proud uncle, said: “When my first baby Venezuela was born I was actually boxing on the same night in Dublin.
“She arrived early and [I] got an awful lot of earache for it on the day and it’s still going now.

“But Tommy is getting paid well and lots of people have to miss out on family things for their work.
“Having babies is one thing and working is another.”
Paul, a 26-year-old former Disney actor, bulldozed his way into the boxing business with x-rated trash talk, mismatch fights and questionable antics.
The 6-0 pro even announced the birth of Tommy’s baby prematurely on Saturday and labelled the Brit an “arrogant, egotistical p****”.
But Tyson is no stranger to controversy and criticism himself and sounded every inch of the 6ft 9in veteran that he is, with his sage advice.
“I will never call anyone out for things they have said in the past because I have said so much bulls*** in my life,” the Gypsy King grinned.
“When you are coming up and trying to get famous, you have to do and say a lot of s***.
“Look at Kim Kardashian and what she did to get famous! I can’t get into that.
“To get popular and famous enough to sell tickets and become a pay-per-view star, you have to do some crazy-a** s***.
Fury will take on Jake Paul, left, in Saudi Arabia on February 26Credit: Getty
“Whether it’s Jake Paul calling Conor McGregor names, or me having a go at everybody, or Tommy going in Love Island, you have to do what you have to do.
“I will never point the finger at anyone because of all the s*** I have said over the years – and will probably continue to do so.”
One bullish statement Tyson is not apologising for is his vow to exile Tommy to the Middle East if he is beaten by Paul.
Tyson has given his little bro every bit of advice he can – on three particular topics he is an expert on – and now the genes have to do the talking.
If he comes up short, he won’t just leave him behind, he’ll force him into labour as Cristiano Ronaldo’s keep-fit lackey.
“Tommy is his own person so he has to do his own thing,” Tyson said.
“My dad has trained him and advised him and he has all his own people working around him.
“The only things he asks me for advice on are; trash talk, marriage and rearing kids.

“I have told Tommy that if he loses he has to stay over in Saudi and become Ronaldo’s personal trainer. He agreed.
