LIVERPOOL legend Peter Cormack has passed away at the age of 78.
The Reds confirmed the tragic news on Friday morning as they paid tribute to the former Scotland midfielder.
A statement read: “We are deeply saddened by the passing of former midfielder Peter Cormack, aged 78.
“Rest in peace, Peter.”
Cormack played under iconic Liverpool manager Bill Shankly during his four-year stint at Anfield between 1972 and 1976.
He won two First Division titles, the FA Cup and Uefa Cup – and played 125 games for Liverpool, scoring 21 times.

Prior to joining the Merseyside club, he came through at Hibernian and spent seven years with the Scottish side.
Cormack left for Nottingham Forest in 1970 where he scored 15 goals in 74 appearances.
He also earned nine caps for Scotland between 1966 and 1971.
His successful period at Liverpool ended in 1976 when he was sold to Bristol City – who he helped lift the Anglo-Scottish Cup in 1978.

He returned to Hibernian in 1980, hanging up his boots later that year following a brief spell with Patrick Thistle.
He immediately moved into managing Patrick Thistle and spent four years at the helm.
Cormack also went on to coach Anorthosis FC, Botswana, Cowdenbeath and Greenock Morton.
