ENZO FERNANDEZ looked emotional after Chelsea made it through to the Carabao Cup semi-finals.
But it was not making it one step closer to the final at Wembley that left the Argentine teary-eyed.
The Blues edged Newcastle 4-2 on penalties last night as the midfielder played just 32 minutes of the 1-1 draw before he was subbed off with an injury.
Fernandez headed straight down the tunnel with a member of Chelsea’s medical team.
After the game, the 22-year-old reappeared with his hood up, cuddling manager Mauricio Pochettino and seemingly being consoled by him.
Club captain Reece James was also on hand to offer him support.

Meanwhile, Fernandez was seen wiping his face.
There are reports that he has pubalgia, which is often referred to as a “sports hernia” and it leads to abdominal and groin pain.
Fans are fearing the injury is a bad one and he could be out for some time.
One said: “Enzo’s actually heartbroken.”

Another added: “We literally can’t have anything nice. It looks super serious.”
Pochettino tried to calm fears about his £105million star, saying: “He felt sick. Before the game he didn’t feel really, really well.
“When he started to play, it didn’t go well. That’s why he asked to go out. We hope it’s not a big thing.”
Fernandez has played in all but one of Chelsea’s games this season, scoring three goals.
He will now join a busy treatment room with Robert Sanchez, James, Ben Chilwell, Marc Cucurella, Wesley Fofana and Romeo Lavia also injured.
