The 22-year-old central midfielder has come in for high praise and been likened to Manchester City star Phil Foden.

According to TalkSport Kokcu has been tipped to sign for Spurs if Slot takes over at the North London club.

Slot has been heavily linked with the job in the capital and is said to be open to the opportunity after he led Feyenoord to their first league title since 2017.

Spurs are still on the hunt for a new boss after Antonio Conte left, with Ryan Mason now in charge on a temporary basis.

Kokcu has previously been linked with a move to Tottenham’s rivals Arsenal alongside a whole host of other Premier League clubs.

The Turkish international has reportedly had interest from Aston Villa, West Ham and Leicester as well.

He is the captain of Feyenoord and has scored eight goals and registered three assists from central midfield in the league this season.

Dutch football expert Marcel Van der Kraan spoke to TalkSport about how good Kokcu could be for Spurs.

He said: “A youth product, let’s say similar to Phil Foden at Manchester City, a player who everybody is very keen on, only his position is a bit different.

“He is a midfielder, a playmaker, and he has been the driving force in the team over the last two years.

“If I was a top six Premier League club, I would be going for Kokcu, definitely.

“If Spurs get him, it will definitely be worth to watch him and see him grow, he can get better.

“He understands the way this manager wants to play, what he is all about. Very high pressing and attack-minded.”
