The Reds lost their third league game on the bounce at the King Power, with Klopp conceding that their title defence is now over.

The 53-year-old has been enduring a difficult time in his personal life with coronavirus restrictions blocking him attending his mother’s funeral.

Liverpool fans unveiled a banner supporting Klopp outside Anfield yet the man himself insisted he’s up for the challenge of turning the club’s fortunes around.

Speaking ahead of the Champions League clash with RB Leipzig, the former Borussia Dortmund chief admitted he was full of energy.

Klopp joked: “Did I get the sack or did I leave by myself? I don’t need a break.

“Privately, we had a tough time, that was a much longer time already and we always deal with it as a family 100%.

“I heard about both [the banner and the rumours].

“The banner was nice, I don’t feel that I need special support in this moment but it’s nice. I don’t need a break.

“I am fully of energy, honestly. I see an interesting challenge. We will sort it by playing football, we will sort it together by fighting with all we have. That’s the plan.

“Nobody has to worry about me.

“We do this for the people. I feel the responsibility so much when things don’t go well.”
