NOTTINGHAM FOREST pulled off a shock win at Anfield to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s Tricky Trees toppled the Reds in their own back garden thanks to a goal from Callum Hudson-Odoi.
Hudson-Odoi shook off Andy Robertson before delightfully curling the ball round Alisson and into the bottom corner.
The goal sparked a sleepy looking Liverpool into life, but they weren’t able to turn things around with Hudson-Odoi’s opener coming just 14 minutes from time.
It’s Arne Slot’s first defeat as Liverpool boss and will represent a challenge for the new man on Merseyside, who will have to try and pick up the pieces of a defeated team for the first time.
And he won’t have a lot of time to do it either with a Champions League clash with AC Milan right around the corner.
