IAN MAATSEN has been omitted from the Netherlands’ Euro 2024 squad.
The Chelsea left-back, who is on loan at Borussia Dortmund, is one of four players left out of the final 26-man squad.
Ronald Koeman initially named a 30-man provisional list of players but has now cut four players ahead of the tournament.
Maatsen misses out alongside Sparta Rotterdam goalkeeper Nick Olij.
Feyenoord’s Quinten Timber, the twin brother of Arsenal defender Jurrien, is also out after battling to recover from a thigh problem.
Atalanta midfielder Marten de Roon is the fourth player omitted following the news he will miss the tournament with a hamstring injury.

Reacting on social media, one supporter wrote: “No Timber and Maatsen it’s so over.”
Another added: “Maatsen dropped but Wijnaldum still there.”

A third fan also asked: “How can you leave Maatsen at home?”
One more commented: “Maatsen feels harsh and Timber is so unlucky.”
Meanwhile, another supporter said: “Why would Maatsen be dropped? He has been in excellent form recently.”
Maatsen has scored three goals and provided two assists in 22 appearances for Dortmund since his January loan move from Chelsea.
The 22-year-old played a key role in their run to Saturday’s Champions League final against Real Madrid.
