Former world champion who KO’d Lennox Lewis, 59, sends 54-year-old opponent crashing to canvas in brutal stoppage

FORMER heavyweight world champion Oliver McCall has won a shock comeback fight aged 59.

McCall famously knocked out Lennox Lewis in 1994 but lost the rematch three years later.

His last bout was in 2019, beating Hugo Lomeli, but McCall made a surprise return in Nashville on Tuesday.

And he beat 54-year-old opponent Stacy Frazier in the second round after a fairly laboured combination of punches.

It meant McCall became the oldest former heavyweight champion to win a professional boxing match.

And it came just days after Mike Tyson controversially fought YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul.

Tyson, 58, was beaten over eight rounds by Paul, 27, in what was his first pro bout for almost 20 YEARS.

And worryingly, the rusty Iron Mike refused to retire afterwards.

The fight was a commercial success with over 72,000 packing into the AT&T Stadium in Dallas.

A huge £14.2MILLION was made in ticket sales alone while 108m viewers tuned in on Netflix to watch.

It makes it the most-viewed boxing match since Muhammad Ali’s era.

Paul named Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez, 34, as a potential next opponent after improving to 11-1.

Meanwhile heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois, 27, and undisputed light-heavyweight king Artur Beterbiev, 39, have also called out Paul.
