But when quizzed on Saka’s fitness ahead of Sunday’s mammoth clash against Spurs, Mikel Arteta said: “I think he will be ok.”

The news will come as a huge relief to Arsenal fans.

Saka has scored six goals and provided six assists in 17 Premier League appearances this season and is in electric form.

He is set to line up on the right hand side of Arteta’s attack.

Apart from the slight concerns over Saka, there are no fresh injury worries for the Gunners boss.

Eddie Nketiah will continue to lead the line in the absence of Gabriel Jesus, with Gabriel Martinelli on the left.

Skipper Martin Odegaard will provide creativity from midfield, having been named Premier League Player of the Month on Friday.

Arteta himself also scooped Manager of the Month.

Odegaard is set to be joined in midfield by Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka, after the trio were not named from the start against Oxford.

And at the back it’s likely to be unchanged from the 0-0 draw with Newcastle at the start of the month.

Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba should partner each other in the heart of defence, with Ben White at right-back and Oleksandr Zinchenko on the left.

Aaron Ramsdale is set to return to the line up after being given the night off against Oxford.
