ROY HODGSON has revealed he is suffering from shingles and admitted he should not have been in the dugout for Watford’s defeat to Burnley last weekend.
The Watford boss, 74, caused a sensation on social media by wearing sunglasses on the bench during the 2-1 loss and did not conduct any post-match media.

Shingles can last a number of weeks or even months, and was visible when Hodgson collected a CBE at Buckingham Palace yesterday.
The ex-England manager says he is improving but still not right and continues to suffer from headaches.
“I am suffering from shingles,” Hodgson revealed.

Hodgson – who has confirmed he will retire as a Premier League manager at the end of this season – returns to former club Crystal Palace tomorrow where anything other than a win will confirm the Hornets’ relegation to the Championship.
Watford have become the prime model of a yo-yo club in recent years and Hodgson has backed them to bounce straight back next season under new management.
Asked if Watford were capable of coming straight back up, Hodgson said: “Yes, absolutely.
“The club is strong. It’s a lot of very good things at this club.
“I think there’s a big squad of players and you know, we haven’t perhaps even seen the best of all of them. Maybe there’s a lot more to come.
“I would be very surprised if I don’t see Watford among the front runners next season.”
