FORMER F1 boss Jean Todt has assured Michael Schumacher’s fans that he is “in good hands” as he visits the stricken star three times a week.
The ex- Ferrari chief – who is one of the only people still allowed to see the F1 legend – previously opened up about their close friendship.
The seven-time World Champion continues to recover from a horrific skiing accident in the French Alps in 2013, which left him with severe brain injuries.
His condition has remained a closely guarded secret, with his wife Corinna preferring to treat her husband privately at their home in Geneva, Switzerland.
And now former Ferrari F1 boss Todt has thanked Michael’s fans for their devotion and assured them their beloved icon is in “the best hands” and is surrounded by people who love him.
He told Bild: “I’m happy that the fans, not only in Germany, think of him so much.

He added: “As long as I am in this world, I will always visit him.

“Sometimes we see each other three times a week, sometimes not for a whole month.
“They are my friends and we are in constant contact. Whatever I can do for the Schumacher family, I’ll do it.”
It comes after Schumacher’s wife Corinna, 53, broke down in tears when the F1 legend was honoured with an award at an emotional ceremony in July.
The Ferrari icon was awarded the State Prize of North Rhine-Westphalia.
Corinna, and daughter Gina-Maria, 25, were present to accept the honour on his behalf – and were joined on stage by Todt.
Todt previously shared details about the star’s condition and said he “hopes the world” will be able to see his dear friend again, adding Schumacher has “never changed”.
He continued: “I don’t leave him alone. Him, Corinna, the family, we’ve had so many experiences together.
“The beauty of what we have experienced is part of us and it goes on.
“Sometimes success and money changes you. But Michael has never changed. He’s so strong.”
He also revealed Schumacher still loves to watch Formula One races.
He said he regularly visits the 53-year-old, who has not been seen in public since his accident, to watch races together.
