The Primeira Liga tie will be replayed on Monday evening having been abandoned the night before.

Huge storms swept across the Azores, leading to scenes of players struggling to move the ball more than a few feet across the sodden turf.

When play was halted on Sunday night, a TV camera kept an eye on an open door into the Benfica dressing room from a distance.

Former Tottenham star Jan Vertonghen could be seen nervously peering out towards the downpour while others milled around and checked their phones.

But broadcasters were left red-faced when a stark naked player wandered into shot.

Fortunately, the unwitting star had his back turned – leaving fans guessing at his identity with only his bum for evidence.

A second player in the buff then crossed the doorway, with a towel hanging over his private parts, for another embarrassing glimpse.

Benfica were far from impressed with the episode and a furious Rui Costa burst out of the dressing room to demand answers.

The former AC Milan legend, who serves as the Lisbon club’s sporting director, descended on a Sport TV pitchside reporter after the channel had shown the images.

The clubs will attempt to replay the game later today with forecasts predicting a much lower chance of wet weather.
