      Who is Mo Farah’s twin brother?
      Mo Farah’s identical twin brother goes by the name of Hassan Farah and they were both raised in Djibouti but born in Mogadishu, Somalia.
      Farah once stated that Hassan lived in Somalia as a telecoms engineer with a wife and ten children.
      The Olympic legend described their bond to be extremely close and mentioned that Hassan was a part of him growing up.

      Why were Mo and Hassan split up?
      Mo claimed that his father Muktar initially moved to London to try and make a living for the whole family but unfortunately, he had told their mother that he could only afford to support for three out of the six kids.
      This meant that Hassan had to be left behind and when the father went back for Hassan, Mo’s twin brother was nowhere to be found after two weeks of searching.
      But in Mo Farah’s documentary, the Olympian champion stated that his father was killed in a Somalian Civil war and he was trafficked here to work as a servant.
      He also revealed that his dad’s real name was Abdi, not Muktar.
      Speaking to Vogue Mo said: There were times when I thought I was never going to see him [Hasan] again,”
      “That moment I got off the plane in Djibouti and saw him, I will never forget.
      “We had lived, and still live, two different lives. But we still have that same bond and connection.”
      “When I went to the airport, I ran to Mo and we both cried uncontrollably.
      “For the first time in my adult life, I felt at peace. This void that I carried with me for so long was finally filled.
      “I never wanted to let him go.”
      Hassan is believed to still live in Somalia and work as a telecoms engineer to provide for his wife and ten children.
      What did Hassan say?
      Hassan has always been his brothers best friend despite having to support him from afar.
      Hassan previously mentioned:  “When Mo was sent away I was left with an empty space in my heart. That space has never been filled, but he is still somewhere in my heart and I know I am in his.

      SEVEN years ago, Mo Farah looked me straight in the eye in front of millions of people – and lied through his back teeth.
      We were sitting just a few feet away from each other in a London TV studio, recording a lengthy interview for my show Life Stories.

      And during an emotion-charged encounter, Mo – now Sir Mo – spoke very movingly about coming to Britain from war-torn Somalia with his mother and several siblings to be reunited with his father Muktar who was already here working as an IT consultant in London.
      There was only one problem with this touching reunion tale: it was all untrue.
      Mo’s father, whose real name was Abdi, had died four years before in Somalia’s civil war.
      And his now world-famous son, the first British track and field athlete to win four Olympic gold medals, has sensationally revealed that he was in fact illegally trafficked to the UK under a false name, and made to work as a domestic servant from the age of just nine.

      “Most people know me as Mo Farah, but it’s not my name, or it’s not the reality,” he told a BBC documentary that airs tomorrow night.
      “The real story is I was born in Somaliland, north of Somalia, as Hussein Abdi Kahin. Despite what I’ve said in the past, my parents never lived in the UK. When I was four, my dad was killed in the civil war. I feel like I’ve always had that private thing where I could never be me and tell what’s really happened.”
      Mo’s appalling ordeal only ended when he finally told his school PE teacher who contacted social services and helped him be fostered by another Somali family.
      From that moment, his life took a dramatic turn for the better and a relieved, liberated and much happier Mo never looked back as he ran himself into Olympic legend.

      Now, finally, he feels able to reveal the truth about what happened to him.
      To say I was gob-smacked by his bombshell confession is the understatement of the Millennium.
      In preparation for all my Life Stories interviews, I would spend days immersing myself into the deepest recesses of the subject’s life.
      By the time I sat down with Mo in May 2015, I had carefully studied every significant media interview he’d ever given, and read his 2013 autobiography, Twin Ambitions.

      It’s no exaggeration to say that, as with many of the guests, I probably knew more about him than he would be able to remember about himself.
      Yet it turned out I didn’t know the half of it, and Mo’s real life story was far more shocking and extraordinary than I could ever have imagined.
      No wonder his first words to me when the cameras rolled were: “I’m really nervous because I’ve never talked about my life…”
      Thinking back to that show again today, it’s strange and uncomfortable to remember Mo tell me about being reunited with his father in London, and about his difficult relationship with him after that, knowing what I know now.
      Some interviewers might feel cheated or angry a guest lied to them so spectacularly on prime-time TV.
      But I don’t.
      WHO COULD BLAME HIM?
      I’ve got to know Mo well since the interview; we’re fellow Arsenal fans and sometimes sit together in a mutual friend’s box at the Emirates stadium.
      He’s a great guy – smart, passionate, fun and a devoted family man to his wife and children.
      But he’s clearly been living in a terrible mental prison camp about the horrifying experiences of his youth, and never felt strong enough to say what really went down or share it with the British people who took him to our hearts.
      Who could blame him for not wanting us to know how he really came here?
      Imagine the sickening nagging worry he must have had for 30 years, as his success and fame rocketed, that the truth might one day come out about his unlawful immigrant status and he could lose both his British citizenship and with it, the knighthood that means so much to him?
      If anyone has earned the right to stay here then it is surely Sir Mo FarahPiers Morgan
      In the BBC documentary, barrister Allan Briddock tells Sir Mo his nationality was ‘obtained by fraud or misrepresentations’ due to the illegal trafficking and his use of a false name, and that legally, it can therefore be removed.
      Thankfully, the Home Office – currently planning to send asylum seekers on a one-way ticket to Rwanda – has moved quickly to say it will be not taking any action against him.
      I should bloody well think so!
      If anyone has earned the right to stay here then it is surely Sir Mo Farah, a man who overcame so much personal tragedy and hardship to light up world athletics and be rewarded for his astonishing success with a sword-tap on the shoulder from his grateful Queen.
      INCREDIBLE STORY
      In our Life Stories interview, I asked Mo about the racist cynics who questioned his right to call himself British and he replied: “Everyone’s entitled to their opinions, but at the same time it’s what you feel in your heart, and for me this is my country, I see myself as British, I’ve done well for my country.
      “It is amazing, as a kid not being able to speak English, and to achieve what I have, it’s incredible.”
      It was incredible then, based on what we thought we knew about his life.
      Today, it seems even more incredible.
      A nine-year-old boy who lost his dad to war, couldn’t speak English, and was illegally trafficked here into a shameful form of domestic slavery, fights back from horrible adversity to become one of Britain’s greatest sporting stars.
      What a life!
      What a story!
      I just wish I’d known about it seven years ago…
      Last night, when the news dropped, I texted him to say: “Mo, what an amazing story, so courageous of you to finally tell it. Just sending my support.”

      The revelations are laid bare in a bombshell new BBC1 documentary, The Real Mo Farah, which airs tomorrow night.
      In it, Sir Mo — who has decided to keep his assumed identity — fears he could be stripped of his British citizenship for giving false details in his application.
      The 2012 Olympics legend, knighted five years ago, had always insisted his father was an IT consultant called Muktar who was born and brought up in London.
      He claimed his dad then moved to Mogadishu and met his mother before returning to the UK, followed by his son when the Somalian civil war deepened.
      However, his father was actually a farmer called Abdi who was killed in the conflict when his son was four. His mother Aisha later sent him to neighbouring Djibouti for his safety.
      She wanted him to be reunited with his twin brother Hassan. Instead one of his own relatives may have helped to illegally traffic him to the UK, through a mystery woman.
      He said: “The hardest thing is admitting to myself that someone from my own family may have been involved in trafficking me.”

      ‘Bazooka shot’
      On arrival, aged eight, she told him he was now called Mo Farah and had to look after her family in return for being fed.
      It was with this false name that he applied for British citizenship – and by confessing it now he puts his national status in jeopardy.
      However, the long-distance running icon – married to Tania, with nine-year-old twin girls Aisha and Amani plus son Hussein, six — is determined to find closure.
      For most of his childhood and teens, he did not see his biological family, which had been “torn apart” by the death of his father.
      He said: “My dad went to look after cattle and never came back. Due to the civil war happening between the North and the South, there were a lot of people fighting where he was.
      “There was a massive bazooka shot. It hit the ground and flew into pieces and one piece hit him on the head and just straight off, off the head there. To me the hardest thing is, till this day, is like, I don’t even know what he looked like.”
      The documentary includes a clip of him on The Jonathan Ross Show recalling how excited he was to meet his dad when he first arrived in London. But he was in fact taken by the mystery woman to her family in Isleworth, West London, where he was forced to work for them.
      Deeply unhappy, he finally plucked up the courage to tell his schoolteachers, and social services intervened. He was eventually looked after by a Somalian woman, Kinsi, for seven years.

      In the programme she recalls how she felt compelled to save him by posing as his aunt. She said: “You were not happy. You’re crying. Then I tried to find out what is going on with you. The lady, she always make you do the housework, to have the kids, to give them their milk, to change their nappy and all these things.”
      She added of the mystery woman: “She didn’t bring you as a human being.”
      Kinsi was the aunt of the real Mohamed Farah. She and Mo contacted her nephew as the documentary filmed.
      In the moving chat, Sir Mo said: “I can’t believe that I’m speaking to you. I carry your name and for many, many years, I carry that with me and I’m proud you know what I have achieved.
      “But as a person I always wonder where’s Mohamed, is he okay, what would life have been like for him? I think about you all the time.”
      Mr Farah said he wasn’t married and didn’t have children, but had watched his namesake racing on TV. He said he would “love” to come to the UK and meet Sir Mo.
      Though his parents and brother never left his thoughts as a child, Mo finally received some sort of stability thanks to his adoptive family. He was then able to nurture his natural ability to run at Feltham Community College in Hounslow, West London.
      However, a major hurdle came when, at 14, he was selected to compete for English schools in Latvia. His PE teacher Alan Watkinson said: “It wasn’t really very clear what Mo’s immigration status was. You know, he didn’t have the documentation that he would need to travel.
      “So, we started that process of getting him the British citizenship as Mohamed Farah. Getting Mo to the point where you know he had his British citizenship was quite a long process.”
      As his athletics career was burgeoning around 2000, he received shock news about his family back home.  A customer in a Somalian restaurant where he was working told him she had just seen his mum. Sir Mo recalls: “I was like, ‘Saw my mom? She’s alive?’ And she’s like, ‘Yeah, she’s alive. Here’s a photo, so if you don’t believe me’. And then she said, ‘Look this is a cassette tape for you’.
      “It wasn’t just a tape, it was more of a voice and then it was singing sad songs for me like poems or like traditional song, you know. And I would listen to it for days, weeks. The side of the tape had a number on it and then on it, it said, ‘If this is a bother or causing you trouble, just leave it. You don’t have to contact me’. And I’m going, ‘Of course I want to contact you.’ That’s when I first called my mom.”

      The documentary then moves to Somalia where Aisha reveals: “When I heard him I felt like throwing the phone on the floor and being transported to him from all the joy I felt.”
      In an emotional trip, Mo and son Hussein return to his home village and see his father’s grave.
      His mother said: “Never in my life did I think I would see you or your children alive. We were living in a place with nothing, no cattle, and destroyed land. We all thought we were dying. ‘Boom, boom, boom’ was all we heard. I sent you away because of the war.”
      She said they were told they would all go together, but recalled: “When I woke up you had already left. I wondered why they left me behind that night.”

      In the documentary, he also finds out the original Mo Farah was the stepson of the woman who brought him into Britain. He gets emotional as he sees his namesake who has never been to the UK. Sir Mo said: “I always wonder, ‘Where’s Mohamed? Is he OK? What would life have been like for him?’”
      Sir Mo’s true background became tougher to hide following his 2012 heroics. He said: “The hardest thing for me, was just not being honest.”
      But he added: “I feel like something’s been lifted off of my shoulders.

      FEARS ON CITIZENSHIP
      SIR Mo is seen in the documentary with wife Tania getting legal advice over his nationality dilemma.
      Barrister Allan Briddock tells him it appears “there were false representations made”, adding: “There is a power in law therefore to take away your British nationality.”
      However, he tells him the risk is lessened because “you were obliged as a very small child yourself to look after children and to basically be a domestic servant”.
      He also said Mo informed the authorities: “This is not my name.”
      But he added: “We don’t have a crystal ball. So we want to be absolutely clear that although we think it’s a small risk, there is a real risk that that is what will happen.” More

      Who is Mo Farah’s wife Tania?
      Tania met the future Olympian when they were students at a west London university.
      She keeps a low profile, but told The Telegraph she misses Mo when he’s training away from home.
      She said: “It’s hard but it’s something that we’ve had to cope with since we first got together really.
      “Mo was going away a lot from day one, so I had to get used to that pretty quickly.”

      When did they get married?
      The couple married in 2010, celebrating with a lavish wedding in Richmond.
      Paula Radcliffe, Steve Cram and Jo Pavey were just some of the big names in attendance.
      Due to Farah’s training, they used to live in their adopted home of Portland, Oregon.

      The couple have a pair of twins – Aisha and Amani – born shortly after Farah’s twin triumph at London 2012, and a boy named Hussein in 2015.
      Tania has another daughter named Rhianna, who Mo has raised since she was a toddler.

      OLYMPIC sprinter Leon Reid has been BANNED from the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham after a security risk assessment.Reid was given a suspended sentence in February after being found guilty of allowing his flat to be used for the production of crack cocaine.

      The 27-year-old won a bronze medal in the men’s 200 metres on the Gold Coast four years ago, and subsequently represented Ireland at the delayed Tokyo Olympics.
      He had been named in the Northern Ireland team to compete in the same event in Birmingham.
      In a statement, Commonwealth Games Northern Ireland said: “[We are] disappointed to confirm that track athlete Leon Reid has been denied entry to the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games following a security risk assessment.

      And during an emotion-charged encounter, Mo – now Sir Mo – talked very movingly about coming to Britain from war-torn Somalia with his mother and several siblings to be reunited with his father Muktar who was already here working as an IT consultant in London.
      There was only one problem with this touching reunion tale: it was all untrue.

      “Most people know me as Mo Farah, but it’s not my name, or it’s not the reality,” he told a BBC documentary that airs tomorrow night.

      Mo’s appalling ordeal only ended when he finally told his school PE teacher who contacted social services and helped him be fostered by another Somali family.

      Now, finally, he feels able to reveal the truth about what happened to him.
      To say I was gob-smacked by his bombshell confession is the understatement of the Millennium.
      In preparation for all my Life Stories interviews, I would spend days immersing myself into the deepest recesses of the subject’s life.
      By the time I sat down with Mo in May 2015, I had carefully studied every significant media interview he’d ever given, and read his 2013 autobiography, Twin Ambitions.

      It’s no exaggeration to say that, as with many of the guests, I probably knew more about him than he would be able to remember about himself.
      Yet it turned out I didn’t know the half of it, and Mo’s real life story was far more shocking and extraordinary than I could ever have imagined.
      No wonder his first words to me when the cameras rolled were: “I’m really nervous because I’ve never talked about my life…”
      Thinking back to that show again today, it’s strange and uncomfortable to remember Mo tell me about being reunited with his father in London, and about his difficult relationship with him after that, knowing what I know now.
      Some interviewers might feel cheated or angry a guest lied to them so spectacularly on prime-time TV.
      But I don’t.
      WHO COULD BLAME HIM?
      I’ve got to know Mo well since the interview; we’re fellow Arsenal fans and sometimes sit together in a mutual friend’s box at the Emirates stadium.
      He’s a great guy – smart, passionate, fun and a devoted family man to his wife and children.
      But he’s clearly been living in a terrible mental prison camp about the horrifying experiences of his youth, and never felt strong enough to say what really went down or share it with the British people who took him to our hearts.
      Who could blame him for not wanting us to know how he really came here?
      Imagine the sickening nagging worry he must have had for 30 years, as his success and fame rocketed, that the truth might one day come out about his unlawful immigrant status and he could lose both his British citizenship and with it, the knighthood that means so much to him?
      If anyone has earned the right to stay here then it is surely Sir Mo FarahPiers Morgan
      In the BBC documentary, barrister Allan Briddock tells Sir Mo his nationality was ‘obtained by fraud or misrepresentations’ due to the illegal trafficking and his use of a false name, and that legally, it can therefore be removed.
      Thankfully, the Home Office – currently planning to send asylum seekers on a one-way ticket to Rwanda – has moved quickly to say it will be not taking any action against him.
      I should bloody well think so!
      If anyone has earned the right to stay here then it is surely Sir Mo Farah, a man who overcame so much personal tragedy and hardship to light up world athletics and be rewarded for his astonishing success with a sword-tap on the shoulder from his grateful Queen.
      INCREDIBLE STORY
      In our Life Stories interview, I asked Mo about the racist cynics who questioned his right to call himself British and he replied: “Everyone’s entitled to their opinions, but at the same time it’s what you feel in your heart, and for me this is my country, I see myself as British, I’ve done well for my country.
      “It is amazing, as a kid not being able to speak English, and to achieve what I have, it’s incredible.”
      It was incredible then, based on what we thought we knew about his life.
      Today, it seems even more incredible.
      A nine-year-old boy who lost his dad to war, couldn’t speak English, and was illegally trafficked here into a shameful form of domestic slavery, fights back from horrible adversity to become one of Britain’s greatest sporting stars.
      What a life!
      What a story!
      I just wish I’d known about it seven years ago…
      Last night, when the news dropped, I texted him to say: “Mo, what an amazing story, so courageous of you to finally tell it. Just sending my support.”
      “Thanks so much mate!” he replied, sounding like a true Brit.

      Who is Mo Farah’s wife Tania?
      Tania met the future Olympian when they were students at a west London university.
      She keeps a low profile, but told The Telegraph she misses Mo when he’s training away from home.
      She said: “It’s hard but it’s something that we’ve had to cope with since we first got together really.
      “Mo was going away a lot from day one, so I had to get used to that pretty quickly.”

      When did they get married?
      The couple married in 2010, celebrating with a lavish wedding in Richmond.
      Paula Radcliffe, Steve Cram and Jo Pavey were just some of the big names in attendance.
      Due to Farah’s training, they used to live in their adopted home of Portland, Oregon.
      Tania opened a “royal-theme”‘ luxury spa in Portland, named the British Manor Spa in May 2017.

      His father was killed in Civil War in Somaliland and his mother has never visited the UK.

      How many children do they have?
      The couple have a pair of twins – Aisha and Amani – born shortly after Farah’s twin triumph at London 2012, and a boy named Hussein in 2015.
      Tania has another daughter named Rhianna, who Mo has raised since she was a toddler.

      The Olympic legend described their bond to be extremely close and mentioned that Hassan was a part of him growing up.
      Farah revealed that they played football together, shared jokes together and even ate off the same plate – teachers in school used to confused them as they were inseparable.
      Until in 1991 when Mo, his mother and two younger brothers moved to London to join their father Muktar who was working in the UK.
      Something which Farah claimed took him a very long time to get over.

      Why were Mo and Hassan split up?
      Mo claimed that his father Muktar initially moved to London to try and make a living for the whole family but unfortunately, he had told their mother that he could only afford to support for three out of the six kids.
      This meant that Hassan had to be left behind and when the father went back for Hassan, Mo’s twin brother was nowhere to be found after two weeks of searching.
      But in Mo Farah’s documentary, the Olympian champion stated that his father was killed in a Somalian Civil war and he was trafficked here to work as a servant.
      Speaking to Vogue Mo said: There were times when I thought I was never going to see him [Hasan] again,”
      That moment I got off the plane in Djibouti and saw him, I will never forget. We had lived, and still live, two different lives. But we still have that same bond and connection.”
      When I went to the airport, I ran to Mo and we both cried uncontrollably. For the first time in my adult life, I felt at peace. This void that I carried with me for so long was finally filled. I never wanted to let him go.”
      What did Hassan say?
      Hassan has always been his brothers best friend despite having to support him from afar.
      Hassan previously mentioned:  “When Mo was sent away I was left with an empty space in my heart. That space has never been filled, but he is still somewhere in my heart and I know I am in his.

      “Like many Somali families we were torn apart by war. In my case it felt more tragic than most. I feel I lost the other half of myself, my twin brother.
      “These days we are all still close, despite the difficulties of travel and communications in this country.”
