Liverpool and Real Madrid ‘in regular contact with Kylian Mbappe’ over a transfer next summer

LIVERPOOL and Real Madrid are reportedly in regular contact with Kylian Mbappe over a stunning Paris Saint-Germain exit next summer.

L’Equipe claims the striker, 21, is unsure if his future remains in France after entering the final two years of his £19.5million-a-season contract.

Mbappe has just embarked on his fourth season in the capital.

And after winning three Ligue 1 titles while scoring 91 goals in 125 games, he is considering a change of scenery.

PSG have so far failed to coax Mbappe into fresh contract talks.

And they are beginning to sweat over the long-term future of their star man.

It’s believed Liverpool tried signing Mbappe twice, once in 2016 when he was at Monaco and again the following year when he opted to join PSG.

And L’Equipe claim they have remained in contact with Mbappe’s representatives ever since.

He is said to be a big fan of Jurgen Klopp and is tempted by the prospect of leading the line at Anfield.

However, Mbappe’s head has also been turned by Real Madrid and their boss, France legend Zinedine Zidane.

It’s reckoned he wanted to sign Mbappe THIS summer, as well as Manchester United’s Paul Pogba and Stade Rennais’ Eduardo Camavinga.

But the coronavirus pandemic wrecked Real’s finances and forced them to put their transfer plans on pause.

But Zidane now reckons the situation has turned in Real’s favour as they will be able to take advantage of Mbappe’s contract situation and negotiate a lower price with PSG next year.

Another boost for Real is that Mbappe has no desire to join Barcelona, as he feels moving to the Nou Camp would end any chance of a preferred switch to the Spanish capital.

It’s added there is no chance Mbappe would be sold to Manchester City either, as PSG’s Qatari owners will reportedly not entertain talks with a club owned by a group from the United Arab Emirates.

The two countries severed relations after a diplomatic dispute three years ago and an Etihad move is definitely off the cards even though Mbappe is open to working with Pep Guardiola.

L’Equipe’s report adds that Mbappe is not interested in a move to Cristiano Ronaldo’s Juventus.

And Bayern Munich are not interested as they are apparently refusing to do deals in the nine-figure region out of principle.

That leaves Liverpool and Real Madrid as the two frontrunners, but PSG remain hopeful they will eventually convince Mbappe to commit his future at the Parc des Princes.
