WEST HAM have had a move for Manchester City wonderkid Carlos Borges hijacked by Ajax.
The Portuguese winger is set to join the Dutch giants, with City inserting a pair of clauses into the deal.
West Ham had been set to sign the winger after entering talks last month.
However, Fabrizio Romano reports that he is now set to move to Ajax for £17million after a verbal agreement was reached between all parties.
Borges will sign a four-year deal with the Eredivisie side and his medical is being scheduled already.
The report adds that City have included both a buy back and a sell on clause in the sale of Borges.
