Kylian Mbappe ‘considering renewing PSG contract with pro-Real Madrid clause inserted’ to keep transfer exit open

KYLIAN MBAPPE is closing in on signing a new contract at Paris Saint-Germain with a pro-Real Madrid clause inserted, according to reports.

The French World Cup winner has been locked in high profile talks with PSG to extend his current deal that expires in the summer of 2022.

But he has so far delayed putting pen-to-paper in the light of Real Madrid’s interest in his signature.

Los Blancos have identified the 22-year-old as their No1 transfer target but the coronavirus pandemic has forced them to tighten the purse strings.

PSG slapped a £140million price-tag on Mbappe knowing that Real Madrid, who have debts of their own believed to be around £527m over the cost of their new stadium, won’t be able to fork out such a fee.

Mbappe has openly spoken about his ambition to play for Real Madrid one day in the future and his new deal is likely to reflect that.

According to AS, it will include a clause that means he is free to talk to Los Blancos if they match an asking price in the contract.

The article also suggests one other club could be involved who have the financial capacity to land his signature with Juventus and Liverpool also previously linked.

Mbappe’s decision to sign a new contract at PSG could also be down to team-mate Neymar.

The Brazilian also has less than 18-months left on his contract but dropped a huge hint he is ready to commit to Mauricio Pochettino’s project.

Neymar’s new deal could convince Mbappe to stay put

And he wants Mbappe to join him in signing a new contract.

He told TF1: “I am happy today. I am truly happy.

“Things have changed a lot. I can’t exactly explain why.

“But today, I am feeling good. I have adapted. I am more calm and I am more happy. I want to stay at PSG.

“I also want Kylian to stay.

“We want PSG to be a great team. I want to continue to play football and be happy, that is the most important thing.”
