HARRY Maguire should have had security to protect him from a brawl there are always “idiots who want a pop”, ex-footballer Danny Murphy says.
The Match Of The Day pundit questioned why the Man Utd captain, 27, was apparently alone in Mykonos when the fight erupted in the street.

He had been taunted by rival fans during a three-day drinking session that ended with his sister being stabbed with a metal straw.
Ex-Liverpool and Spurs legend Murphy said he hopes the drama will be a “harsh lesson” for Maguire.
Writing in the Mail on Sunday, he said: “This isn’t something new. It’s always happened.
“When you are playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world, no matter where you go, you are always going to get some idiots who want to have a pop.”
Maguire spent a boozy three days partying with celeb pals including Love Island’s Chris Hughes and teammates Jesse Lingard, 27, and Brandon Williams, 19.

He also popped up in Instagram stories with snooker ace Judd Trump, 31, and Lottie Moss, 22, the sister of supermodel Kate.
But there didn’t appear to be any minders in the videos – including one where is surrounded by a group of jeering lads.
Ex-England star Murphy said he ended up “having a few altercations” as his profile grew – causing him to take his doorman uncle away for lads’ holidays.
He wrote: “What baffles me is why these lads are not learning.
“So far in his professional career, Maguire has been someone who has conducted himself very well. He has not got a catalogue of incidents behind him. He is a quiet lad by all accounts, not someone who surrounds himself with trouble-makers.
“We need to know the full details before we pass judgement, but if your family or loved ones, whether your sister or your girlfriend, have been put in danger then you are going to react. If that did happen, then I don’t think the majority will turn against him.
“Hopefully, this will be a harsh lesson for him, he learns from it and nothing like this happens again.”

His words have been echoed by ex-Chelsea star Tony Cascarino, who called on all footballers to improve their security.
The Republic of Ireland striker, 57, told talkSPORT’s Weekend Sports Breakfast: “Across my career, it was mainly good chats with people who come up to you, but every now and again you will meet someone who wants trouble.
“Harry should have someone there.
“He’s quite a normal lad; he’ll watch Sheffield United when he can, he’ll go and have a beer with his friends.
“But there’s always someone out there. You can’t do it anymore. You can get yourself into a situation.
“Having security around you is necessary.”

The brawl erupted outside a swanky nightclub when a man — described by sources as “gangster types” — had started chatting up the star’s younger sister.
And when she turned him down, she was jabbed in the arm – drawing blood and causing her to faint. Harry then stepped in before a fight broke out.
When plain-clothed police came to break it up, the Utd captain was allegedly “verbally abusive to an officer and then hit him”.
He was arrested along with two mates and the trio spent two nights in a cell before appearing before a court on Saturday in Syros to deny the charges.
Maguire is now understood to have travelled back to the UK ahead of another hearing in court tomorrow, which he does not have to attend.
But the case could be thrown into jeopardy after staff in the building tested positive for coronavirus.
Sheffield-born Maguire became the world’s most expensive defender when he signed for Utd from Leicester City for £85million in August last year.
He was named captain in January this year following Ashley Young’s departure to Inter Milan.
He is next due to play at Old Trafford for their first game of the season on September 19 against Crystal Palace.
Maguire has made 26 appearances for England and was a key part of the team’s journey to the World Cup semi-finals in 2018.
But the legal action could throw a spanner in the works for strict England gaffer Gareth Southgate when he names his squad on Tuesday.
