David Coote’s moment of madness will be a hole in the head for Howard Webb and music to the ears of footie conspiracists

But fans have always done that.It is just that the team who were protected and helped out changed from decade to decade, depending on who was top of the pile.Plenty of Liverpool and Arsenal fans, in particular, have convinced themselves Michael Oliver — universally rated by the FA, Uefa and Fifa as one of the top refs in the world — is Manchester City’s 12th man. But PGMOL boss Webb believes the first three months of the season have seen Prem refs’ reputations turning a corner.Mistakes are down, with fans seeing more accurate and quicker decisions. And that is even before the delayed introduction of semi- automated offside tech — due after Christmas if everything goes well — to speed up flag calls even further. But Webb will know the few  seconds of stupidity that will see Coote becoming part of football history will only bring fresh focus on his recruitment policies and the integrity of top-flight whistlers. And not just from the loons and oddballs that refuse to ever believe the evidence of their own eyes.Webb was already expected to be discussing at least one of Coote’s decisions in tonight’s instalment of the Match Officials Mic’d Up monthly review show. Coote actually made the correct call when Manchester United’s Matthijs de Ligt slightly caught West Ham’s Danny Ings inside his own box in added time at the London Stadium last month, before accepting Oliver’s recommendation to award a penalty instead. That finished off Erik ten Hag’s United reign, with Webb conceding it was an error. The former World Cup final ref might also have been ready to look at the decisions made by Coote at Anfield, of all places, on Saturday night.Half a pitch behind the action, he appeared to wave play on — rather than applying the advantage rule — when Leon Bailey wiped out Mo Salah.READ MORE SUN STORIESThe Jamaican avoided punishment by the VAR because Darwin Nunez went on to make it 1-0, therefore Bailey could not have denied an obvious goalscoring opportunity. But due process means Webb cannot say anything about the suspended ref at this stage, even though ignoring the Coote-sized elephant in the room will be a difficult sell.Shocking David Coote video in fullFirst videoFirst man: “What did you think of the Liverpool game earlier when you were fourth official?”Second man (allegedly Coote): “Erm Liverpool were s***.”First man: “What did you think of Jurgen Klopp?”Second man (allegedly Coote): “C***, absolute c***.”First man: “Why would you say that Jurgen Klopp is a c***?”Second man (allegedly Coote): “Erm, aside from having a right pop at me when I reffed them against Burnley in lockdown.”Then, he accused me of lying and then just had a right f***ing pop at me – and I’ve got no interest in speaking to somebody whose f***ing arrogant.”So I do my best not to speak to him. Interviewing outgoing England boss Lee Carsley’s a waste of time now, there’s only three questions anyone wants to ask

LEE CARSLEY will conduct four rounds of media interviews in five days during the next week. Before and after England’s Nations League matches against Greece in Athens and the Republic of Ireland at Wembley, we’re expected to ask the Three Lions interim manager some questions.Lee Carsley will face the press four times in five daysCredit: SplashIncoming England boss Thomas Tuchel does not start until JanuaryCredit: SplashYet, with genuine respect for an excellent coach and a decent man, there are only three questions I can think of.These are: “Where are all the players you picked last week?”“What are you still doing here?” and “Where’s the German bloke?”The November international break, coming so soon after the September and October breaks, is the least wonderful time of the year for football fans.READ MORE IN FOOTBALLIt’s the time when we start sounding like dear old Brenda from Bristol being vox-popped by BBC News after the calling of a snap general election in 2017.“You’re joking? Not ANOTHER one? Oh for God’s sake, honestly, I can’t stand this.”But at least in most November international breaks, the actual England manager bothers to turn up.Not so, Thomas Tuchel. And not so, a significant swathe of the England squad either — after the biggest mass withdrawal of players in history. Most read in FootballBEST FREE BET SIGN UP OFFERS FOR UK BOOKMAKERSEngland will play 16 or 17 matches between now and the start of the World Cup, due to be staged either side of Donald Trump’s bloody great wall in 2026. So why would Tuchel pass up the opportunity to take charge of the first two of them? When Tuchel was appointed last month, it felt extraordinary that he wasn’t going to start work until January and, now that this godforsaken hiatus in the domestic schedule is upon us, doubly so.Thomas Tuchel ‘was NOT England’s first choice and Pep Guardiola could still get the job’Tuchel has just 18 months to win a World Cup — which is his stated aim rather than more tub-thumping over-optimism from the likes of me.Like a McDonald’s burger-flipper aiming for employee of the month, Tuchel says he will put ‘a second star on the shirt’.So why the three-month delay? The problem with Tuchel is not that he’s foreign — although that is a black mark for the FA’s National Football Centre and its coaching ‘pathway’.It’s that he’s part-time. He’ll start by taking a few months off, then a bit of WFH and then pop over to take in a few matches, rent a little place over here, a couple of matches in March, then back to Germany to see the kids. Flexible working kind of thing.Which is nice work if you can get it. Especially for £5million a year. But probably not the best way to win a World Cup.Tuchel is a very good manager but the way the FA have bent over backwards to accommodate him suggests he is a bona- fide genius, rather than the first Bayern Munich manager in 12 years to fail to win the Bundesliga. How England’s squad originally looked before the weekendAfter the dedication of Gareth Southgate, we are back in the era of Fabio Capello, with the England job a convenient part of somebody’s work-life balance. It is impossible to imagine as many as EIGHT England players pulling out through ‘injury’ had Tuchel been taking charge for the first time this week. And isn’t the Nations League supposed to be meaningful? England must beat Greece by at least two goals and defeat Ireland if they are to be sure of winning automatic promotion back to the top tier and avoiding a play-off in March, when Tuchel will turn up.And these results have an effect on world rankings and future seedings too.Tuchel isn’t expected at either of this week’s matches but is presumably expected to tune in and watch, perhaps after the school run and before he does the ironing.READ MORE SUN STORIESMeanwhile, Carsley is hung out to dry again, facing the media like he did last month, in scenes akin to a really s**t police interrogation in which the suspect had to pretend not to know that Tuchel had already been appointed and that he now can’t remember when he actually did find out.So what is Carsley still doing here? Amsterdam Police Arrest 5 More Men Over Antisemitic Attacks

A total of eight people were being held in connection with last week’s violence, and unrest in the largest city in the Netherlands continued on Monday night. The police in Amsterdam arrested five more people on assault charges this weekend, four of whom are still being held, over the attacks on Israeli soccer fans in the city late last week after a match between an Israeli and a Dutch team. The total number of people who are still being held in connection to with the violence is now eight, the police said, and more arrests were possible. The people arrested were all men ranging in age from 18 to 37. The police urged people to share any video footage as a way to aid their investigation. On Monday afternoon, Dick Schoof, the prime minister of the Netherlands, told Dutch reporters that the perpetrators who attacked Maccabi Tel Aviv supporters in Amsterdam primarily had “a migration background.”“We have an integration problem,” Mr. Schoof said, “This is an expression of that.”Over the past year, tensions related to the war in Gaza have been high in Amsterdam, a city with a large Muslim population angered by Israel’s conduct in the conflict, which was set off by the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas-led attack on Israel. While most of the hundreds of Gaza-related protests in Amsterdam have been peaceful, some have turned turbulent. One disrupted the opening ceremony for the city’s new Holocaust museum. On Monday night, the unrest continued, with riot police responding to vandalism and people throwing fireworks, which set a tram on fire in a square in the western part of the city. The police urged people to stay away from the square. In neighboring Belgium, two boys — ages 14 and 17 — were arrested in Antwerp on Sunday and Monday, Antwerp officials said, for allegedly spreading calls on social media to attack Jewish residents in the city.We are having trouble retrieving the article content. Please enable JavaScript in your browser settings.Thank you for your patience while we verify access. How Cucurella trapped Saka AGAIN in Arsenal draw with simple trick but Chelsea have critical Palmer problem

ARSENAL were dealt yet another blow in the Premier League title race on Sunday.Despite taking the lead at Stamford Bridge, the Gunners were pegged back and had to settle for a 1-1 draw with Chelsea.Enzo Maresca and Mikel Arteta cancelled each other out at Stamford BridgeCredit: GettyPedro Neto fired in the equaliser on 70 minutesCredit: GettyGabriel Martinelli fired in from a tight angle to break the deadlock on the hour mark. But ten minutes later, Pedro Neto let fly and squeezed his shot into the bottom corner. Arsenal squandered big chances to nick all three points – but instead could not fully capitalise on Manchester City’s shock defeat at Brighton. And the draw left both Arsenal and Chelsea on 19 points – nine behind early pace-setters Liverpool.READ MORE ON FOOTBALLBut what did we learn about both sides and how did the managers cancel each other out?SunSport’s tactics guru Dean Scoggins revealed all on the latest episode of Tactics Exposed…1. HAS CUCURELLA GOT SAKA’S NUMBER?Marc Cucurella kept Bukayo Saka very quiet in the Euros final – and he did it again at Stamford Bridge on Sunday because he had a very good plan.First of all, it’s how he attacked him – he went in, he was very physical, he hit him very, very hard. Most read in FootballFOOTBALL FREE BETS AND SIGN UP DEALSBut he did it really quickly as Saka received the ball, not after he received it when he likes to touch the ball in field. Cucurella was already there and that meant Saka was taking the ball where he didn’t want to go.Mikel Arteta ‘disappointed’ by Chelsea draw as Arsenal lose ground in title race Also, the Spaniard’s starting position saw him occupy an inside lane, a narrow position which allowed Saka to have the space on the outside, effectively saying, ‘Let’s have a race.’Romeo Lavia, Neto and even Cole Palmer help out defensively to create traffic on the inside, where Saka wants to cut inside on to his left foot. So it was the early contact from Cucurella and not allowing Saka to spin inside higher up the pitch. But then when it was deeper, he decided not to engage and challenged Saka to beat him on the outside because he was not giving him the inside channel. Marc Cucurella played Bukayo Saka brilliantlyCredit: GettySaka was allowed to go down the line but could not get into the inside right channelIt was a similar tale in the Euro 2024 final2. COLE HAS GONE COLDCole Palmer started the season in red-hot form, scoring seven and assisting five in his first nine games. However, the last two games have told a very different story with no goal contributions and just one shot on target. And the explanation comes from Enzo Maresca’s box midfield. The Chelsea gaffer likes to bring Cucurella inside to create a four-man box in the middle – but the left-back was tied up keeping tabs on Saka.So instead, Maresca instructed Malo Gusto to come inside. However, the right-back bypassed the holding midfielders and effectively became the right No10, pushing Palmer across to the left No10 – the opposite flank from his devastating inside right position. Add in the very effective Arsenal defensive triangle of Thomas Partey, Martin Odegaard and Saka stopping Palmer getting the ball and he had another anonymous afternoon. Cole Palmer has had two very quiet games in a rowCredit: GettyIt is a stark contrast from his start to the seasonMalo Gusto pushed on to become the right No10 as Palmer shifted left3. ODEGAARD THE CONDUCTOROdegaard is the captain and the conductor – and not just with his attacking intelligence. It’s his pressing, understanding of space and where everyone is around him.Honestly, he must come off with his arms as tired as his legs because he is constantly waving them, pointing and barking out instructions. Odegaard is so often the trigger, he is the one who sets the traps.Kai Havertz did an OK job in his absence. How did they cope without Odegaard? He is just a sensational player. And the goal comes from that inside right channel because Odegaard worked it out.He realised there were four players around him and Saka, so that meant somebody else was free in space and he barely looked before producing that beautiful ball in behind for Martinelli. If Arsenal are going to go close in the title race, it will be because of Odegaard. Matin Odegaard is Arsenal’s conductorCredit: ReutersHis inch-perfect cross set up Gabriel Martinelli’s goalCredit: SunSportArsenal ratings v ChelseaHere’s how SunSport’s Tony Robertson rated the Gunners:David Raya – 7Tipped a shot over the bar early on from Cole Palmer and claimed crosses well. Could do nothing about Neto’s crisp strike.Ben White – 5Poor when trying to stop a Neto cross that Malo Gusto should have then scored. Booked for a foul on the winger later on.William Saliba – 6Steady alongside Gabriel but was more in the covering role so had less to do. Struggled with his line-breaking passes today on the whole. Failed to engage Neto as he raced towards the area before narrowing a shot into the corner.Gabriel Magalhaes – 6Made some vital blocks when the midfield was bypassed and was generally the busier of himself and Saliba.Jurrien Timber – 6Busy day for the defender in trying to keep Madueke quiet, a task he largely succeeded in. But he wasn’t able to heavily influence the game going forward since the ball never really got to him. Most entertaining part of the game before the goal probably came with the 57th-minute throw-in that slipped out of his hands and over his head.Thomas Partey – 6Struggled to contain Cole Palmer early on but grew into the game and got on the ball plenty, although he was somewhat wayward with his long-range passing. After a bad touch he managed to poke the ball back to Odegaard before he provided the assist.Declan Rice – 6Made some vital defensive contributions to block some Chelsea chances and displayed quick thinking at a free-kick to put Havertz through to score, but was marginally offside. Subbed off after 71 minutes.Martin Odegaard – 7Back in the starting XI for the first time since August. Has been a big miss for Arteta’s side but may take some time to get back to his best and was on the ball nowhere near enough at the Bridge. Won the ball back before providing the assist for Martinelli’s opener.Bukayo Saka – 5Showed superb defensive work rate to keep Marc Cucurella in check, though this inversely meant he was unable to contribute as much in attack. Subbed off after pulling up injured in the 79th minute.Gabriel Martinelli – 8Should have done better when given the chance to score past Sanchez in the penalty area after Saka won the ball back high. Kept at it and scored against the run of play in the second half with a nice finish to Sanchez’s near post. Hooked after 71 minutes.Kai Havertz – 6Appeared to have poked home the opening goal with a sharp bit of movement but was fractionally offside. Booked for not going off the pitch when bleeding on his head.4. CHELSEA’S SANCHEZ FORCEFIELDArsenal set pieces have been a major hallmark of their success in recent times but Chelsea defended them better than anyone else has so far this season.Firstly, they desperately didn’t want to give away corners and Robert Sanchez – who made a massive mistake for the goal – was coming out of his area to prevent them.On the rare free-kicks, the Blues defenders stepped right up to the edge of the box.But it was at corners where they were particularly impressive as they created a forcefield, a circle around Sanchez to stop the likes of Gabriel and William Saliba a free run at a close-range header.Nicolas Jackson was the front post as a big man to head clear, the two centre-backs were in front of Sanchez and everyone else was blocking. Neto even stood with his arms out to block Gabriel from causing more problems. It was committed defending and highly effective.Chelsea’s defenders protected Robert Sanchez at cornersCredit: GettyThe goalkeeper should have done more to protect his near post when Martinelli scoredCredit: AFPChelsea ratings vs ArsenalRobert Sanchez – 6Still punches the ball clear when a catch would be much safer – and reassuring for the fans behind him.Malo Gusto – 6Went close with a header in the first-half. But was missing at right-back when Arsenal took the lead through Gabriel Martinelli’s 59th minute goal. The problem with also playing in midfield.Wesley Fofana – 7Strong challenges and now fully back from lengthy injury. Also went close to a goal in the second half when he pumped the ball just over.Levi Colwill – 6Forging a partnership with Fofana at the heart of defence. Got caught dangerously in possession by Arsenal skipper Martin Odegaard but recovered.Marc Cucurella – 7Cracking tussle with Bukayo Saka. Despite being one of only three men on the pitch wearing gloves, including the keepers, Chelsea’s left-back is a formidable defender.Moises Caicedo – 6Enjoying a run of form at the moment that includes last weekend’s volleyed equaliser at Manchester United. Strong tackler and smooth through the gears in midfield.Romeo Lavia – 6A surprise package keeping £107million Enzo Fernandez out of the team. After a terrible run of injuries is forming some consistency. But any twinge is a scare and came off in the 66th minute.Noni Madueke – 6Called up to the latest England squad and is mobile and nippy. Also seemed a bit stroppy and went straight down the tunnel when subbed in the 66th minute. Perhaps needed treatment.Cole Palmer – 6Maybe the sore knee is still troubling him. Only trained yesterday for the first time in almost a week. But it hampered his impact on a disjointed London derby.Pedro Neto – 7Starting to make his presence felt after being relegated to the Conference League matches. Stunning powerful drive for the equaliser and full of energy. Nicolas Jackson – 6Feisty and fiery but went to ground too easily to win a couple of free kicks when he could have done more damage on his feet. Gives everything though.5. THE ENZO FERNANDEZ INSTINCTEnzo Fernandez is a top quality footballer – and he has a massive impact on matches.Maresca likes the defensive pairing of Moises Caicedo and Lavia but Fernandez offers something different and that was evident from the moment he came on.His introduction was a clever substitution and the right substitution. He scanned, knew he couldn’t go one way and then turned back and the pass for Neto’s goal is underrated – the weight was like an invite to move into the area and it was a great goal from the Portuguese winger.Yes, there were mistakes from Arsenal – Saliba was out of position after going for a wander, Martinelli went to sleep and Neto was given a huge gap.But do not overlook the quality play from Fernandez. It gives Maresca a dilemma because Fernandez has such a big impact but doesn’t quite fit the system the manager wants to play.READ MORE SUN STORIESIs Palmer not producing as much because Fernandez is not playing? The former is very keen to make his mark by bringing in new faces and slashing wage bills.“Negotiations have been ongoing for the past six weeks and finally a deal has been struck that everyone is pleased with. FOOTBALL FREE BETS AND SIGN UP DEALS“BBC execs will be giving Match of the Day a reboot to keep it fresh in the wake of such a huge departure.”And part of that will include finding the replacement – or replacements – for Lineker.Gary Lineker’s best Match of the Day momentsJermaine Jenas was long seen as the successor but the former Prem star is now out of the running after being AXED by the Beeb for his sexting scandal. So with Lineker vacating the chair, several new names will collectively step into his giant boots.Who, though, could they be?MARK CHAPMANSunSport understands 51-year-old Chapman will likely be one of the presenters rotated in the new-look MOTD format. He already has the gig as MOTD2 host on a Sunday night plus landed the hosting job for the new BBC Champions League highlights show.Liverpool legend Mark Lawrenson, 67, feels Chapman is poised for the job because he’s the clear No1 candidate. He said: “In Chappers, there is a ready-made replacement if it goes that way. It will be up to Gary.”Though not a former player, Chappers has shown his quality as a presenter and would be an able replacement.Mark Chapman would be one of the obvious choices as he currently presents MOTD2Credit: GettyChapman has been on the sofa for the new BBC Champions League highlights showCredit: BBCALEX SCOTTScott gets the nod from the Beeb bosses when Lineker is away. She is used to presenting the Saturday night show but is also perfectly adept at the live match coverage at football stadiums – as demonstrated at the Euros, FA Cup and WSL. My family hammered me after my first MOTD appearance but hosting TV’s best football show is an honour, says Gary Lineker

GARY LINEKER has blown the final whistle on his Match Of The Day presenting career – and what a goal-den run it has been.Over a quarter of a century, his highlights reel includes hosting the programme in his undies and having toast thrown at him by footie hardman Vinnie Jones.Gary Lineker presented the first MOTD of the new season in his Leicester City emblazoned pants after his former club won the title in 2016Credit: BBCGary’s first appearance as the main presenter on MOTD in 1999Credit: Pixel8000Gary with pundits Alan Hansen and Mark Lawrenson in 2000Credit: BBCYet the ex-England ace’s debut on the world’s longest-running TV football show left him squirming. “My first-ever appearance on Match Of The Day was probably my worst,” he told the BBC.“I was playing for Leicester in 1980 and, in those days, there was usually just one game shown. So it was incredibly exciting when I heard that our match against Aston Villa had been chosen.“Unfortunately, I missed an easy chance, knocking it over the bar from five yards out. I remember going home and being absolutely hammered by my family when they watched the show that night.”Gary, 63, who hails from a family of greengrocers, added: “My dad enjoyed a bet, but if you’d offered him odds that night back in 1980 that one day I’d present MOTD in my pants, as a result of Leicester winning the Premier League, then he would have laughed you out of town.”Read More on Sport‘I wanted Des’s job’Few have had more stellar England careers than Gary, whose final show will be at the end of this season. The former striker remains the Three Lions’ top scorer at World Cups, with ten goals to his name, and is England’s fourth-highest scorer of all time.He notched up four goals at Italia 90 when England reached the semi-final. He scored in that match before West Germany famously won on penalties.Later, showing an aptitude for a pithy phrase, he said: “Football is a simple game — 22 men chase a ball for 90 minutes and, at the end, the Germans win.”Most read in FootballThe ex-England skipper always had his eye on a career in the media during his playing career. On retirement, he went into presenting and punditry with the BBC, initially for Radio 5 Live.Gary Lineker will stop presenting Match of the Day at the end of this season at and will quit Beeb by 2027He was also a witty team captain on TV sporting quiz show They Think It’s All Over from 1995 to 2003.Dad-of-four Gary took over presenting Match Of The Day in 1999 from Des Lynam, who many at the time regarded as irreplaceable. And earlier this year, he told the BBC: “I didn’t do punditry for very long. I wanted Des’s job.”At the time he stepped up to the top hosting role, Gary said: “I’ve been watching Match Of The Day since I was a boy.“And just as captaining England was an honour, so too is hosting the best football show on TV.“It’s a job any sports broadcaster would be proud to do and I’m thrilled.” Gary would say of his first show in the hot seat in 1999: “You can’t really practise telly. I don’t get nervous, didn’t as a player, don’t as a presenter, but I remember that first show, there were a few butterflies.”At first, Gary says his presentation style was not as honed as he would have liked. He recalled: “I remember for a couple of years driving home and thinking, ‘I’m never going to be able to crack this’.“But, in the end, you get used to the environment and then it becomes natural — and then it really depends on whether you’ve got enough likeability, that more people like you than hate you.”Gary’s mix of assured authority and quick sense of humour won him legions of fans.Following Premier League rights returning to the BBC from ITV in 2004, Gary pushed for all the day’s matches to be screened.“It’s constantly evolved,” he told the BBC when celebrating Match Of The Day’s 60th anniversary in August this year. “I can remember when I grew up there was just one game shown. Then it went to two.“Then we lost the rights for three years to ITV. When we got the rights back, I said, ‘Is there any way we can show all the games?’.“We found a way of doing it, so I thought, ‘Right, we won’t get people moaning their team is never on Match Of The Day’.“But, of course, then it becomes where the team is in the running order. ‘We’re always last’, and this kind of stuff’.”Despite Gary and his pundits’ forthright criticism, he says few players have had a go at him, explaining: “Very, very rarely. Not with players.“Managers more so, managers are touchy. The player-turned actor told The Sun how Gary “said he’d rather watch Ceefax than watch Wimbledon”.Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels star Vinnie, who was not amused, said: “If I’d got hold of him, I’d have ripped him a f***ing new a***hole.“So when I saw him in a hotel in Dublin, I threw me f***ing dinner at him and said, ‘Well, you want to say something now, big ears?’.”The 1995 set-to also involved Vinnie chucking slices of toast at Gary.Three years later, the pair appeared together in a Walkers crisps advert, the hatchet seemingly buried. If I’d got hold of him, I’d have ripped him a f***ing new a***holeVinnie JonesNow Vinnie says: “He’s not on my Christmas card list. I’m sure I’m not on his.”In 2016, Gary promised to present Match Of The Day in his pants if his beloved Leicester City achieved the remarkable feat of winning the Premier League title.“I did a tweet in December saying if Leicester win the league I’ll do the first show of next season in my undies. When I did that tweet, I knew there was categorically zero chance Leicester would win the league. But, of course, they did.“I kind of had to do it. It was the most surreal thing I’ve done on TV.”Gary also showed his cheeky side when then-Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette let out a blood-curdling scream after being fouled, falling to the ground and clutching his leg, in 2021. Lacazette soon returned to his feet without needing treatment.‘Exceeded expectations’At the end of the show, Gary threw himself off his presenter’s chair with mocking screams. His prowess behind the mic has also seen him present coverage from the Olympics, major golf tournaments and the Sports Personality Of The Year awards. He has been the BBC’s highest-paid on-air talent for the past seven years and would work for other networks, including BT Sport. There is also a lucrative long-term sponsorship deal with Walkers crisps, and he jointly owns TV production company Goalhanger Films. It produced sports documentaries including Rooney: The Man Behind the Goals, about Manchester United icon Wayne.Goalhanger also has a podcast division, which has proved Gary’s Midas touch.I did a tweet in December saying if Leicester win the league I’ll do the first show of next season in my undies. TV and radio shows including Football Focus, Final Score and Fighting Talk were pulled.Match Of The Day lasted just 20 minutes without presenters or analysts and only edited highlights screened.I love being part of Match Of The Day, I love working for the BBC. Then last month came rumours of a leaked email that hinted the BBC was drafting a statement on Gary’s departure from Match Of The Day.A BBC spokesman insisted: “We have nothing to announce, and we have not agreed next steps with regard to his contract.
